12 December 1894,Dear Professor Foxwood,
It's finally happened. Our mamas must be speaking because I've learned we will be attending the Foxwood New Year's Eve ball. I have already seen drawings from the modiste, and I am told the Russian Empire is the theme. This, good sir, was your mother alone. If my mama truly befriends her, you and I will be forced into a season filled with all the fashions of the 17th century in the French Court.
I hope your last days of term are going well. and I look forward to seeing you soon. I hope we have the opportunity to discuss your research this Christmas holiday. I dearly miss our conversations hearing your perspectives on transfiguration throughout history. I wish my peers thought like you did, or half as much. I wonder why I am still the student who does all the reading and expects to have an intelligent conversation in class.
Sincerely,
Miss Hermia Bonaccord
