Adrestia strolled through the dimly lit pathways of the magical zoo, her heels clicking softly against the cobblestones. The enchanted lanterns cast eerie, flickering shadows across the enclosures, and the air was heavy with a mixture of damp earth and the distinct musk of magical creatures. She had dressed for the occasion in a striking crimson gown, its delicate black lace overlay giving the impression of spider webs clinging to her slender frame. Her blonde hair was pinned up in intricate curls, accentuating the theatrical mask she had chosen for the evening—a raven’s beak adorned with shimmering obsidian feathers.

She paused in front of an enclosure showcasing a lethargic-looking acromantula, its glistening black eyes fixed on the gathering crowd. The creature's massive, spindly legs were tucked beneath its hairy body, giving it an almost contemplative air. Despite herself, Adrestia felt her stomach twist. She had faced far more dangerous things in her life than spiders, but the sight of so many eyes was unnerving, and she suppressed a shudder.

The voice behind her broke her reverie. "The acromantula was fed just this morning and is ready to fall asleep at any moment," the man assured, his tone calm and steady. She turned to see a tall, broad-shouldered man in a sharp suit, his dark eyes scanning her face briefly before looking back at the enclosure. She recognized him vaguely—one of the owners, she thought. Another shiver ran up her spine as her eyes flicked back to the creature.

Adrestia lifted her chin, offering a small, confident smile to mask her unease. "That is... reassuring," she said in her crisp, melodic most faux confident tone, though her hands remained clasped tightly in front of her as though she was afraid some insanity would overtake her and she would reach out and try to pet the thing! "Its...its the eyes" she admitted, unable to stop the face she pulled, "It is like the creature is seeing through to the darkest parts of one's soul." She forced a laugh, a soft, almost musical sound, and tilted her head in curiosity. "A comforting thought. Though I doubt I'm the first person whose needed that reassurance tonight!"
