Hello! -

Hello everybody! My name is Trudy, and I love Harry Potter and other magical novels! I started roleplaying a year ago, but took a break, and now I'm back. I'm excited to start roleplaying here on Charming, so any Charming-specific advice would be great!

Whenever you see something like this, you can use it to switch accounts:

The exception is by your name under your avatar—there, it allows you to switch the account you post from after the fact, in case you make a mistake!
Of course, you need more than one character for that. You know where to find me
ALSO: always watch the Contests & Events forum. Something is always going down!

Hi Trudy!! Welcome aboard!
We have some of our own very strange lingo and abbreviations UPCB = upper class pureblood, MCHB - middle class halfblood, WCMB -working class muggleborn, for examples hah they all get mixed together to create the appropriate identifiers for the character!
We also use the term "hurling" for romantic interests, we "hurl" characters at one another to see if they get along! You probably won't need that now, but with new characters you might!
Happy to have you, please let us know if you need anything! ♥

Hey, Trudy! My name's Bree!
For advice: When joining, I've always thought it was best to make characters that have immediate connections—whether familial or friendship—to others! It helps get you involved in the community without struggling to find threading partners! It seems you're already on your way there with Kayte, though
Diversifying your characters is a great way to stay involved too! Having at least one Hogwarts student and one adult at any given time is a great way to ensure you're able to participate in every plot! (I can help with that, too :P)
I'd also implore you to start a networking thread! That way members can offer you connections <3

When
editing your profile, you have to use HTML instead of BBCode. This includes line breaks!
If it's not something you're used to working with, we have tons of people about who can help

Hi Trudy, I'm Beanie!
"Today's Posts" is a great way to make sure that you don't miss any
Daily Prophet articles or announcements, but both will also be updated in the site's announcements. Also, always double check that your posts in lists like the character directory and the play by directory went through!
It's so nice to meet you! :D

Hi Trudy, welcome! I'm Té. The others have made lots of amazing tips already, but I have another to add! We have a
map of the most common areas of RP that I often refer to when I'm writing. I also have wanted characters I could help you out with. ;P
I also use the "New Posts" button in the bottom sticky bar religiously so I don't miss anything.
