Introducing: Professor Hauke Bauer - Hauke Bauer - August 3, 2024

29 Year Old Professor | UCPB | Durmstrang Institute | Rep: 8


Hauke is a German bachelor from a prestigious, extremely wealthy family with some... odd but hardly alarming customs. Patient, charming, and earnest, he arrived over the summer to get to know Hogsmeade, London, and England as a whole before starting his new job as Professor of Magical Theory at Hogwarts. Public rumor says he has come to England to seek a wife, after finding few appealing prospects around his own home-- and suggests that his inheritance, should he find a wife, would be significant. Yet, in the weeks since he arrived in England he has not been noted paying any individual lady overmuch attention. He smiles, and he chats, and he is always willing to indulge in a little conversation. He will get to know anyone, but he never seems to come back beyond a surface greeting.


For Hauke I am seeking:

  • Potential hurling! Hauke's situation is a little bit complicated, in that he was born a woman and has been presented and raised as a man mostly to secure his family's inheritance. He does consider himself a man... sort of. In the end he considers himself neither, and is simply content to be seen as a man, but regardless of his outlook there is the terrible complication of the fact that any courtship would run into trouble where consummation is concerned. So, if you're interested in a fairly complicated situation? Let me know!
  • I would love to build out Hauke's life as a Professor at Hogwarts, so any students in need of a fairly laid-back teacher figure? Hit me up.
  • Fellow magical theory/spellcraft nerds?

Hey Arcadia! Don't think we've RPed together yet so just wanted to extend any of mine to any of yours~

For Hauke though:

* I think Ida here might be my best fit for anything re; hurling but also as a likeminded academic friend. She's close friends with Prof Foxwood, and is always around Hogsmeade with her various studies related to her advanced Transfig work at Flint Institute. So academic connections/similar circles could be a thing. But also she's kind of a disgrace to her family and they'll be pushy about her talking to anyone considered ~eligible. Ida herself has little interest in marriage but does engage with eligible bachelors mainly to pretend she's "trying her best" to get married.

* During the schoolyear Maxwell Beck is my terror bastard child

* Male friends it's likely Hauke would run into Cassian Valenduris in UC circles, but if he doesn't mind drinking with the poors in dingy pubs he'd find Thomas Harvey there for sure Smile

I have at Hogwarts, Mason Skeeter who is the Herbology prof & Hufflepuff HoH, he's got a decade of teaching under his belt and is pretty laid back and go with the flow as well, but has high expectations for students.

Incoming firstie is Ramona Pendergast she will be terrible in his class because ADHD. Sorry XD

another incoming Hogwarts connection after the AC!

Outside of the school I have some hilarious options. My UC ladies are Victoire Malfoy and Sutton Holbrook for debs. Wildly different choices. haha

Cordelia Emsworth is my UC eccentric botanist, who loves all things learning!

My UC gents are Emmett Harper and Claudius Lestrange, both in the age range and again very different characters lol.

FOR A TWIST, I have Dean Hudson who is bi and super flirty, but subtle/discreet. He doesn't speak German... yet Wink

I've got a professor: Hugh Bailey who is very shy. He teaches the history of magic and started the middle of the year last year. He's traveled the world and speaks a lot of different languages.

And I've got two current students (Toby Seacoal [the drama queen of your nightmares] and @"Kitty Arundell") as well as an incoming first year Chloe Greene. Let me know if any of these spark any plot ideas for you. Always happy to thread.

Meserimus would have been his professor I think - and he's married to a Durmstrang former student and most of his kids and grandkids from his first marriages went to Durmstrang so they probably know of each other. He is also a bit nerd and academic.

He and Thaddeus should do things together - dark magic is Thads bag - and he runs the Magic university and the dark arts secret society so might be worth them having a chinwag at some stage

I've students - the only one he might tolerate if he's anti-halfblood is Honoria Rookwood - the rest are a mix of halfbloods and bastards.

I have things!

I have Gus here who is the DADA professor. He is the equivalent of a golden retriever. He's also kind of a disaster when it comes to teaching, so there's that lol. (Mason, Hugh and Basil all know how much he enjoys dragging them into trouble lol<3)

I also have Cadogan Glynn who is a Ravvie (and the new 5th year Ravvie prefect!) He's really awkward and shy, so he'd like a laid back professor. I also have Chuntao Chang who is striving to be one of the best students Hogwarts has ever seen.

Hauke is an absolute spellwork NERD, so I bet he and Ida would have a lot to chat about? We could toss them together to see if they want to like. Pretend at courting or just vibe? Or whatever?

Would a hands-on, non-lecture based lesson setup help Ramona more?

I'd be totally down to have him chat with both Victoire and Sutton, y'know, get a feeling for the vibe? :D See if it spawns some ideas?

I bet Hugh and Hauke could have a good time discussing magical history. Hauke's no expert in the general timeline but the timeline of spellcraft? When certain techniques and theories were developed? Absolutely.

I would LOVE if Meserimus was his professor. It'd be so fun to have an established relationship between them? :D

Secret Dark Magic discussions? :3 Cause Hauke doesn't talk about it openly but it does FASCINATE him as a point of study and it'd be good to have someone to discuss with.

Also he's not anti-halfblood. Did I say that somewhere? O.O If so that was a mistake and I need to correct whatever I was trying to say. Hauke's uncle would probably care but Hauke super doesn't.

Cad is the president of the Transfig club. He also does Astronomy and History Smile Tao is apart of flying, exploding snaps and creatures~

Ooooooo~ I think we should stick them together and see where their personalities take us :3 Hauke always enjoys the chance to talk about rarer magics, and he knows little of alchemy, which I think he'd much like to change. It sounds fascinating. Wanna start a thread for them to meet up? New professors on the block?

As for the other two, Hauke has extensive experience in Transfig so he could be of help there, but the rest is out of his wheelhouse pff
