Today
The years since her marriage have not been kind or easy.
Although she is still beautiful, Elfrieda is jaded and lonely and looks it. Her eyes often have a sullen expression and she has taken up the unladylike habit of smoking cigarettes. She likes elaborate dresses and jewelry and spends her husband's money at the modiste.
Her hair is worn up nowadays and she seems like a mature woman much more than she used to.
Elfrieda is 5'7 and right-handed.



History:

1867
Elfrieda is born in eastern Prussia during a mild summer day. Her parents welcome her into a lively family that continues to grow quickly. They live at Nadrauenstein, a centuries-old tower in a forest far away from muggle society.

1871
She shows her magical potential at four, which is the norm in her family. They start educating her from that age onwards.

1878
It is time for the girl to join magical life outside the family and so she goes to attend Durmstrang. Struggling to adapt at first, she eventually comes to love her time at the school. She is a voracious reader and enthusiastic student.

1883
She spends a summer in England with her aunt and uncle. For Elfrieda, a new world opens. After her return, she begs her parents to let her move there but they refuse, insisting she finish her time at Durmstrang. Her uncle Reithwin stays in London for business and brings her English novels and poetry books whenever he visits Nadrauenstein. These texts form her view on love and marriage.

1885
Her education at Durmstrang is finished. She returns to her family home to help her mother with raising the younger siblings. Her older sisters are marrying. Elfrieda once again pleads with her father to let her go to England. She feels isolated in Nadrauenstein, in the dark Prussian forest.

1887
Her uncle Reithwin comes to her rescue. He has temporarily moved his family over to London to attend his business there and insists to let Elfrieda stay with them. Aunt Martha promises Elfrieda's mother to find a suitable husband over there. Her romantic dreams seem to become reality.
She indeed has a formidable season in London. Looking and fashioning herself like a princess from a faraway land, she attracts numerous suitors, even some that are well above her social station. But she is looking for a love match.

1888
A young man named Clifford Yaxley wins her over and they marry in 1888. She quickly finds out that he is also already married to his work and the day-to-day in London looks a lot more mundane than she would like. Somewhat disappointed, she tries to settle into life.
To lift her spirits, she attends lots of social events with her newfound friends from London society.

She meets a young Don Juan Dempsey at one of those events and is instantly smitten, believing her love for this man to be eternal. They have an affair that is found out by her husband's family. Mr. Yaxley challenges Don Juan to an illegal duel and gets arrested. Word gets out about the affair and scandal ensues. While her lover leaves the country for Europe, Elfrieda stays behind and bears the scorn of her families. Both the Yaxleys and her own parents regard her affair as an affront to their values and a stain on their reputation.
Things only get worse when she discovers that she is pregnant. The fatherhood of the boy is of course questioned. The most difficult months of her life follow.

1889
Her son is born. Mr. Yaxley is not present. He has vengefully decided to carouse with actresses and light-footed ladies to heal his wounded heart. Their marriage is in shambles. Elfrieda stays at their home to raise her child, while Mr. Yaxley basically lives at his workplace and his parents' house. She is ousted from polite society. Her husband tells her that he will have his mistresses and she will accept it, or divorce and be a ruined, penniless woman. She stays.

1890 - present
Elfrieda slowly builds some sort of life for herself. She is very lonely but pours her pain and melancholy into writing and painting. She starts venturing out into the less polite parts of society in secrecy, attending avant-garde art events and even frequenting art events and spaces that belong to muggles (unthinkable to her family!).

Personality:

Arcane - Elfrieda understands that true knowledge comes from within and can only be attained through quiet introspection and contemplation. She is withdrawn.

Methodic - she has the imagination to break free from the monotony of familiar methods and discover new possibilities. As an artist, she creates new styles by combining traditional and modern techniques, but this trait applies to all areas of her life. She is all about how to do things best.

In need of rehabilitation - When she does not have good relationships, she feels confused and unstable. She is lonely but does not know how to talk to others about her problems.

Skilled - she has a lot of enthusiasm for the expression of skills and capabilities and ample free time. She is always refining, practicing, and experimenting with scientific or artistic skills until perfection and mastery are achieved. Music, dance, and art are her fields of interest.

The arousing of shock - this is a theme for her and although she would not admit that, it is rooted in her personality. Subconsciously, she creates these situations for herself because she seeks a certain sensation and intensity. She can turn from brave to unreasonable and foolish at any moment.

Struggling with growth - Elfrieda is always going back and forth between taking responsibility for mistakes and using them as opportunities for growth and feeling ashamed and becoming overly cautious and stuck in the past.
