Season Shenanigans Character Needs - Fortitude Greengrass - May 26, 2024
Okay, I talked myself around to the idea of a new character for ~season fun, now I'm looking for help making this new character a reality. I am thinking of ANY or ALL of these ideas depending on how much I can do with them. For each one I'm interested in hearing both ads they could fill (and if there are any things that are flexible in your ads let me know!) or active characters they could plot with. If you, like me, are about to make a series of bad character decisions you can also pimp me your as-yet-unmade character connections.
CONCEPT I: THE ELOISE, IF YOU WILL
This debutante is somewhere between "fine" and "spectacularly successful" on the marriage mart (so, not a weirdo/cusp-of-spinsterhood failure), but also has at least one close female friendship. She's actually deeply in love with one of those female friends, but does not realize this until she (or perhaps her friend?) is on the cusp of a perfectly fine, perfectly respectable marriage to a perfectly fine, perfectly respectable gentleman. So now what?
She could use:
-- a natal family (MC/UC, any blood, she would be between 18-24)
-- close female friend(s), one of whom she's secretly in love with
-- perfectly respectable gentleman suitors, one of whom might end up married to her
-- anything else of interest
CONCEPT II: THE DEBLING, OF SORTS
An eligible man who is known for being odd... and by odd we mean he's an activist and not shy about telling people. I'm undecided on his branch of activism - could be feminism but like, more "radical" than what is mainstream appropriate at the moment, or could be something offbeat like goblin rights. His idea of good courting is inviting a pretty girl to The Cause and then lecturing them if they don't ~~get it~~. He's not opposed to marrying this season, in fact he'd kind of like to, but only to someone who has a healthy respect for the mission (or at least a tolerance and good acting skills).
He could use:
-- family, friends, etc - whatever you've got in ads. He is UC/MC and might have an occupation but if so it would be one that ~aligns with his True Life's Work, not something that competes with it.
-- potential bachelorettes
-- allies in the Cause
-- enemies in the Cause
-- anything else of interest
CONCEPT III: THE MEDDLING MAMA
A matron more aligned with Lady Featherington than Lady Bridgerton, with a hint of Lady Danbury's society meddling in the mix. She knows what's best for her children and isn't shy about telling them so, and will be overbearing to whatever extent necessary. She's cynical and worldwise and believes serendipity happens when you make it happen - she would definitely send her daughter into the rain to catch cold so that she has to stay with the wealthy suitor :P
She needs at least two played children/wards/etc who are In The Season in order to be interesting to me. Debutante daughters, unmarried sons, or recently-married-but-not-yet-established children could count here. You should be up for Max Meddling if you volunteer for this.

Route one offerings of friends either of the love interest variety or not: Octavia Fawley, Delphine Hunniford, or Rachel Morgan. If it isn't for a childhood friend there is also my incoming F Lovegood.

Concept #3 will be coming to life as Ife, whose ad specifies she has at least one living child (I have made the assumption that this tally does not include the one who is a hyena). So if YOU are UCPB, biracial, and in need of a mother/grandmother, find me.

Concept #1 has solidified into a UCHB deb, age 20ish with a Violet Bridgerton-esque mom and many siblings. If you're considering a new bachelor for the season they could maybe be my brother/Bee's son!
I'm keen on her being friends with Tavie because I love Tavie <3 and/or Rachel, whichever vibes better.
