Callista Adebayo

23 | Hufflepuff | UCPB |  Rep 9 | Debutante & Hobbyist Herbologist
An accomplished and dutiful debutante, Callista does her best to live up to society's (and her family's) expectations. She sees the best in everyone, is quirky on the downlow, and is a romantic optimist afraid to fall in love. She could use:

❧ Friends!— I would especially love her to have some very close female friendships. Lissy is the sort to go all in and be their biggest cheerleader/agony aunt/wingwoman, whatever, she's ride or die (... as far as she can be, ~Appropriately). Likely to be UC or MC, AB is fine for friends, good rep preferred, former Hufflepuffs or Pendergast Roses.

❧ General society sorts!— Her hobbies are mostly all the typical ladylike things: charitable causes, music, art, etc.

❧ Herbology connections— She doesn't ~advertise this, but she's also very passionate about Herbology and if you get close enough/her excited enough you will see her true colours. She has a nursery of Mandrakes and Venomous Tentacula and other dangerous plants, so anyone to talk plant nerdery with her is very welcome!

❧ Hurls— she is looking to get married advantageously – so UCPB, 28+, respectable, someone with money and business/social/political connections that might be useful to her family's shipping company. She is expressly NOT looking for love, so the less she likes you the more responsive she will probably be. She's also very happy to play the matchmaker for other people, so if you're too nice she might ship you with someone else. I also feel like she's also likely to pay attention to the 'overlooked' people in society like she's adopting strays.

I'm also open to back-plotting any past attempted-suitors she would have quickly shut down/made excuses to if they tried to make a move on her since her debut in 1890.

❧ Complications— The women in her family are cursed when it comes to love, which is why she's trying to avoid ever being in the situation of being dumb and in love. I am not opposed, so I'm open to ALL sorts of inappropriate/pretty much anything to see where it goes. One way or another it will end tragically.

Chastity Bentley for potential friend? They overlapped at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff for Callista's first three years before Chastity had to drop out. She's Lower-Middle Class these days, but she was raised closer to mid-to-upper MC and would have socialized accordingly.

My only single UCPB dude is, unfortunately, Algernon, if she'd like an invalid old man. XD Unlikely for them to cross paths, as funny as hurling him at anyone is to me.

I also have Gregory Hart for class appropriate hurling, Julius Scrimgeour for hurling almost certain to fail, and lots for class INappropriate hurling.

For fellow debs on the scene, there is Eurydice Lovegood who is new but aging (still younger than Callista hehe) and ofc sister incoming.

The only really appropriate connection I have is Mina here, who's generally very competitive, so they might not be friends but they can be friendly for sure. Maybe not the best of friends, though, haha.

Phie for a friend, I think she definitely would be receptive to someone matchmaking with her. I'm also about to give her an unwanted suitor, so I'm sure she'll need help navigating that >DDD

Maybe Louisa for womanly advice if she needed a former governess? Idk if the timing lines up but she's there if she needs advice.

Bee Daffodil Grimstone: Torie would be a perfect friend for her, yes please! <3 Callista would probs be a Wildflowers customer and attendee of all Potts flower shows, as well as a friendly-acquaintance of Daff's from school! Def game for Claude!hurling in summer.

Steph Henry Berkwood: Callista probably doesn't publicly advertise her continued friendship with Chastity these days as she's a bit ~beneath her, but I also love the thought of them being friendly at Hogwarts, and she would have probably kept up regular letters when she left. Def a friend she would probably lightly dabble in matchmaking for and try and set her up with some MC men for a more comfortable life. xD

LISTEN. I would not rule Algernon 100% out, she would feel fairly safe in not expecting to fall in love with him if he recovered enough for this to be plausible. xDD


Kayte Aldous Crouch: Would love to try any and all of these hurls or fail!hurls <3 She will put a friendly foot forwards towards Eurydice and see if they can be friends, and I would looove a sisterly thread when the season starts, Callista will willingly shepherd her about and give her a whispered "society tour" at events lol.

Elaine Wilhelmina Bain I like the idea of reserved friendliness here, Callista is not competitive in nature but she is good competition in ladylike spheres so there might be that friction for them.

Lady Philomena Sprout YES I want Phie for a really close friend, I think they'd get along so well!! Also yes to Callista offering advice/meddling/living vicariously through her, I would enjoy Phie sharing all her suitor problems with her tehe <3

Oh I'm game to try hurling her with Cal! Bc he's ~emotionally reserved, I think at first she would be like "hm, good", but if they starting bonding too well after that she would immediately back off.
