Of course he was thrilled to have made it this far, so he grinned at his opponent as they got the formalities out of the way. Gus had absolutely no desire to wind up on his back, nor did he want to be sent sprawling into the crowd, so he quickly cast finite in an effort to terminate Mr. Lochrin's spell before it hit him.

Lissington landed flat on his back as a result of Lochrin's efforts. Kit allowed the professor a moment to regain his composure (and return to his feet) before directing him to begin the second pass.

Gus grimaced as he rolled onto into a seat before he finally managed to stand. He shook his head to help clear his head as he readied his wand for his next spell. Without much hesitation, Gus decided to cast Petrificus Totalus this time around; surely a full body bind would prevent Mr. Lochrin from being able to cast anything.
