Philip Rowle vs. Gus Lissington -
Rowan Yaxley - April 26, 2024
Rowan was only slightly disappointed she'd be judging all male duels today; she couldn't help but root for all of the other women who'd entered the duel. Seeing as it was another Ministry employee and a Hogwarts professor, Rowan settled in to watch, announcing:
"Mr. Rowle, please begin when you're ready."

Flip was shocked and gleeful to have won a single duel here – and it felt terribly therapeutic to be rewarding for casting offensive spells. He felt like a teenager again. Stinging hexes were still a solid favourite of his, but for now he stole the spell he'd suffered from Browne in the last round, absurd as it was – a Bat Bogey Hex.

Well, he made it past the first round, which was better than what he'd done last year. Couldn't help but laugh as his opponent cast his spell, finding that the bat bogey hex sounded
terrible to be hit with. His nose twitched from the thought of it. Gus cast
"impedimenta" in hopes of slowing it down enough for him to dodge.

Rowle's casting was somewhat successful, but Lissington's own spell hit it mid-air. It bravely attempted to resume course, but instead died where it stood. Rowan announced Mr. Lissington the point and bade him to continue onto the next pass when ready.

Well, that went better than expected. Gus decided to cast Tarantallegra this go around, in hopes of making his opponent dance wildly. (Perhaps for his entertainment, and perhaps in hopes of him not being able to aim properly. Mostly the former though.)

Philip cast Flipendo in response, hoping to throw his opponent off the stage. (While he danced or otherwise.)

Rowan watched as each spell was cast but ultimately, it was Mr. Rowle who was thrown bodily from the platform, landing with an uncomfortable sound not too far away. Rowan winced, waving her wand in his direction to set him to rights. "Mr. Lissington gains the point again, thus winning this round."
