Unlike the previous bouts under his jurisdiction, Kit had worked with both of the wizards now before him, knew them to be altogether capable duelists. This, the auror thought as he reviewed rules in a bored tone, should be interesting.

Trystan nodded at Sterling, thankful that at least if he bowed out this time, it would not be to a smirking sister-in-law.
But he would rather not bow out at all. With bombarda, he aimed a small (– controlled, of course –) explosion at the floor just before Sterling's feet, hoping the disruption would throw him backwards.

The entire duel ground to a halt as aid was dispatched to the young lady in the crowd hit by Sterling's spell. It was effective, clearly, but not as effective as Selwyn's efforts to send it off course. Rather unnecessarily, Kit thought, he declared Selwyn the winner once proceedings were able to proceed once more.
