Mr. Protego Lochrin vs. Miss Porphyria Dempsey - NPC - April 15, 2024
27th April, 1894 — Hogsmeade Memorial Assembly Rooms, Duelling tournament
How fascinating this duel would be. The judge looked with bright, inquisitive eyes from the sir at one end to the miss at the other. She looked quite severe, didn't she? And the man looked...well, content. He was never good at reading people, so it could be entirely possible that they both could be in incredible pain and he wouldn't even know it.
In any case, the judge raised his wand to magnify his voice for the crowd once more. "We shall start this duel with Mr. Lochrin going first. Whenever you're ready, sir!"

Protego wouldn't fancy himself the greatest duelest, but he did like a bit of friendly competition now and then. He bowed to Miss Dempsey, and then casting a disarming spell.

Porphyria bowed her head in turn – to curtsey in a duel simply felt foolish – and tried to conjure a gust of wind in the room strong enough to blow his spell off course. Or rip his wand from his hand altogether. Or broke the assembly rooms’ windowpanes. Whatever worked, really.

Oh look at that, Mr. Lochrin's dismarming spell was nearly perfect! Miss Dempsey's wand went careening into the crowd before she could even get out the first words. "This first pass goes to Mr. Lochrin!" He announced before inclining his head to the lady. "Miss Dempsey, please begin the next pass when you are quite recovered."

Well, that was that. Miss Dempsey’s curse bounced off of Mr. Lochrin’s shield with such force it ricocheted into the crowd and caught a poor bystander square in the face. Merlin’s Beard, someone forgot to put up the shield to protect the crowd. “Mr. Lochrin wins this round!” He announced, though was quite distracted by the fuss made to put the poor spectator to rights.
