One of the things Chastity appreciated about her life now was the amount of freedom she had with her free time. There was, of course, still a certain level of expectations with her job--she was in charge of children, after all, and that required a certain high level of respectability. But she had more time, now, to do things like regularly attend appropriate events, when she wanted to. And she had a very kind landlady who didn't mind Chastity having guests--at least, not the kind of guests that Chastity wish to have, anyway--which was always an added bonus.

This evening, she and Yseult were preparing to go to the Irvingly Arms for its monthly event. Chastity had only been once, several months ago, but she'd enjoyed herself enough to be excited about going now. "Have you been to one of these events before?" Chastity asked her friend.

Any free time was well-appreciated by Yseult, who didn't get much. Infirmaries needed cleaning, after all, and she was lucky enough to be able to do some things with magic rather than cleaning up by hand. There were times she was glad to be a witch.

It was nice to feel a little fancy, and going out did exactly that for Yseult, "Not really," she admitted, turning to look at Chastity, "Is it nice? Or, well, fun."

She tried to stay closer to Hogsmeade, in case she accidentally offended any of Irvingly's muggle residents. But she did like her neighborhood--hopefully they weren't offended by her usual hesitance to attend the events! Yseult smiled at Chastity again, trying to hide the nervous part of herself that had just announced itself.

"Once," Chastity answered. "I thought it was nice enough." Anything that was out of her normal schedule was a treat. Chastity had never been one for society events, for obvious reasons, but that didn't mean she didn't like opportunities to socialize. Sometimes, she didn't realize how tired or stressed she was until she allowed herself a bit of a break. "It's nice to have an evening out, though."

Yseult considered that. Nice enough would probably be fine, and since she had Chastity as back-up, things would certainly go at the very least, not poorly. She adjusted her hair, looking into a mirror. It wasn't often she got to put more thought into it.

"Do I look alright? Not under-dressed? Or over-dressed?" Yseult had put on her nicest dress, a second-hand piece that was meant for someone taller, but Yseult had managed to make it fit with a few adjustments in her free time. "I don't want them to think I'm a snob."

"You look lovely," Chastity said. "And just right."

She leaned over to look at herself again in her mirror, tilting her head and patting at her hair. She'd tried something new tonight, but she wasn't entirely convinced that the look fit her as well as it had on the fashion plate she'd gotten the idea from. "Does my hair look all right, do you think?"

Yseult allowed herself a moment of vanity. 'Just right' sounded fantastic to her. She preened a little before feeling a little silly and turning to look at Chastity. She considered the other woman's hair and question. It was right in her wheelhouse--although she couldn't afford the latest styles and didn't always have time in the morning to get everything perfect, hair was something Yseult paid attention to.

She tilted her head, then took a step back. It was hard to have Chastity's hair color, but Yseult believed her friend made it look good. "I think so! Maybe just..." Yseult took a step forward and moved a strand of hair from one side of Chastity's head to the other. "Does that look any better? It is a little difference..."

Yseult 'hmm'ed. Honestly, she wasn't sure the difference would be noticeable, but it was also something that could be put back easily if Chastity preferred the original hairstyle.

Chastity considered the change in the mirror, and then smiled. "Perfect." Now that they were ready, the light giddiness of going out was starting to set in. She didn't have many opportunities for nights like this, after all. "Are you ready to go?"

Yseult took one last look at herself. "I think so!" She grinned at Chastity. It had been a lot of fun getting ready with someone else. "Do we just show up whenever? Or is there a time we need to be there? Oh, goodness, we aren't late, are we?"

"I don't think so," Chastity reassured. "But we should get going regardless, so we don't risk it!"

"You're right!" Yseult said, standing up and brushing herself off just in case. She offered her arm to Chastity, glancing towards the door.

Chastity took Yseult's arm. "Off we go, then!"
