Help me Nano! - Madeleine Backus - October 21, 2023

So I'm very much torn between Christabel Daphnel and Merida Greyback

Both have a good number of threads - but def both need new things and enough to get through the next month!!



Christabel -
Married to a ghost, who is basically ignoring her
brother is the new minister of magic
rediscovering her newly political/radical voice
Writes books on the down low
Open to just about most plot hooks


Merida
Wants werewolf plots!
Interested in hedge witchcraft
Secret animagus,
too Romantic for her own good
Open to plot hooks, the more fairy tale adjacent the better!

Help me pick who is better for it by giving me plots and helping me fulfil your needs!

I think Heather Parkinson and Nataliya Vulchanova are the only characters I have that could help either one;

Both of them are a bit young to probably be actual friends with Christabel, but Heather is very political (obviously) and would be happy to speak with her more about rediscovering her radical/political voice and maybe discussing the fact her brother is the new MoM. Nataliya, on the other hand, being my spooky gal, is super intrigued that she's married to a ghost and probably has read all her mystery books because she adores mysteries (and gothic fiction like Mary Shelley).

Nataliya was in the year below Merida, I think? She's terrified of werewolves due to the whole thing where she thinks her family was killed by them, so I don't know if that would ever factor into how they'd interact. I think Heather, who is a few years younger than her, would like her personality a bit more, though. Unfortunately she's in mourning so there's not much she can do.

A couple ideas off the top of my head:
For Christabel:
I have Lottie, of course, and could totally get behind a sibling thread
We had talked about Malou's political leanings so I'd love to see a thread to get the two of them linked together
Lucy Hutton is in the same social circle, I think Lucy is a few years older, but I'd be more than happy to have a thread between the two of them since Lucy also needs things to do
Felix Prewett is a politics reporter so I wonder if we could do something with that
Caroline Darrow could totally be gotten into politics if you'd like, she tried to get her husband to run this year and is a bit annoyed he did not

For Merida:
Too romantic for her own good - has she met or is in a place where she could meet, Lottie?
Hedge witch, I've been wanting to pull hedge witch stuff in to my writing around here, I'm thinking I'll do it with Laurel Potts, also I'm inclinded to have Dahlia Honeyduke have flavors of a kitchen witch so we could definitely do a thread with either or both
Also, does she have hurls because I have @"Alfred Plunkett" "Fred", Hugh Bailey, and Somersby Fudge. Hugh (or Fred) will likely be my Nano tribute
Do you want to do something with her being a werewolf and getting the ministry involved? I have @"Percival Adlard Jr." for that

Heather and politics YES PLEASE! Nat could do a follow up on the political article, or they could encounter each other at a political lecture.

I'm using obviously Chris but Merida is an expert at werewolf injuries as part of her day job - so at some point she and Nat should have an interaction!

For Chris - YES to every single one
I def want Lottie - because Chris is a mess and needs some sisterly comiseration or rage advice...whatever comes to her!
Malou and Carol could definetly interact with Chris at more ladylike political or suffrage events.
Same with Felix - she ran her brothers campaign, so could definetly be interview, officially or otherwise on that!


In terms of your NANO - I can thread Maddie, yuri and rose as my WC people who might interact with any sort of regularity with Fred.
For Hugh - if you go with him, I can offer Eliza, who works for the museum.
