Candidate Interview: Starring You - Heather Parkinson - September 24, 2023

1st September, 1893

Dear [Sir or Madame],

Now that election season has officially begun, I am writing to you in order to request an interview that will be published in The Daily Prophet regarding your campaign, your political opinions, and anything else you may want to discuss with me in order for the magical community to get to know you better as a Ministerial Candidate. As I know you are likely preparing for the upcoming Ministerial Debate, I would be open to schedule these interviews for after the event; we may even be able to discuss what you talked about during the debate. Please let me know what works best as soon as you can.

Awaiting your response,
H. Parkinson

Dear H. Parkinson,
Thank you for your correspondence. It would be a pleasure to conduct an interview with you. As I have no time to conduct one any sooner, doing so after the debate will be our best option. I have the most availability on the 20th of September. Please send word to Mrs. Patton's residence at [address here] along with further details. I look forward to working with you.

From, Miss Sweetie R. K. Whitledge

Christa,

See enclosed — do you know anything about this H. Parkinson? Worth the time or best avoided? Pet issues, etc? I know a [firstname*] Parkinson but not an H, cousin perhaps? Or no relation?

Oz,
I think this is the sister of that particular Parkinson.  I think this is a good opportunity for you to speak to some of the more nuanced positions of your campaign.

Why don't you offer to meet her at my Hogsmeade home, I believe she is rather political and has strong views on the position of women, I've not met her at any the rallys but I believe she has, like many of your darling sisters, a strong position on the role of women in politics.  Arrange it for after the debate, that way you can drive home the points from your speech that are the most important.

Chris,

A sister? Where do you think she's actually being published? Not the Prophet, certainly — they're still using Forsythe's ink, for Merlin's sake; they're not about to let a woman cover crime and politics. Not from a genteel family like the Parkinsons, anyway. But sure; that's plenty of time to cancel with good excuses if it turns out she's only being published in radical pamphlets, or something.

Oz

Miss Parkinson,

I would be pleased to hold an interview. My sister Mrs. Christabel Daphnel has graciously volunteered her study for the purpose, if this suits you.

She may write under a nom-de-plum like me some other exceptionally talented female writers, otherwise it may be for one of the more liberal periodicals or pamphlets. Some have a wider readership than you might expect!

Let me know the date I'll get something nice you like in.

I hope you’re well. Thank you for offering your time – of course I’d be pleased to be interviewed by you, and hope we can arrange some time, perhaps later in the month, for a full discussion.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Daphnel,

Your brother, Mr. Ozymandias Dempsey has agreed to meet with me for a formal interview to discuss his platform and has informed me you would so graciously offer your study for this purpose. I would like to know when would be the best time to arrange this interview so that it works for both you and Mr. Dempsey with minimal stress. I would be happy to arrange my schedule to better fit yours if needed.

Sincerely,
H. Parkinson

Ms. Parkinson,
Of course! Ozymandias has already a committed agenda until after the debate. Can I suggest *DATE*. Shall we say 1pm? My home in Wellingtonshire can be found from the street or via fluu if you prefer.

Kindly,
Mrs. C. Daphnel.

*Left the date open so that ye can slot it in whenever it works.
