I'm Back and I'm Still Allergic to Networking! - Ursula Black - June 8, 2023

This is my return for real! Unless I get into drama school then I might get a bit patchy in September but let's not put the cart before the horse.
Anyway, I'm sorry I've sucked for at least a year now but I'm done with retail and my soul is returning to my body, one horcrux at a time which means I can be way more consistent.

Okay, so, I'm keeping all of my characters until further notice:
Antigone Lestrange
Charles Macmillan
Hesper Gamp
Mariana Macnair
Nicodemus Zabini
November Malfoy
Questor Spryly
Ursula Black

They ALL need things. Plot, friends, ships, threads, enemies, murders. You name it, they need it.
I'm going to try very hard to make threads happen instead of just saying 'oh that sounds nice' and not following up which is what I always do with networking. If I haven't followed up it's probably because I'm suddenly feeling like a nuisance and doubting whether you want to thread with me so don't take it personally and chances are if you poke me about it I'll be like HELL YEAAAAH.

Hi!! So, the only ones I think I can plot with are Hesper and Nicodemus if either are interested in plotting with Dorian Rosier, who is an UCPB 5th Year. I don't know how well they'd get on since he's a purist, but even enemy ships can be fun too.

Nico might have trouble with the purist thing depending on how Dorian goes about it - there was a whole purity deception scandal in the family but this also means it's nothing new to him. He's pretty forgiving so it might not be too much of an issue if his being a halfblood isn't too problematic for Dorian.

Meanwhile Hesper is destined to marry into the Black family so she has to tolerate it at the very least. For now I'd call her a very soft purist if not neutral. She's probably not going out of her way to befriend boys but she's reaching the age where she might start crushing on them so there's always that possibility?

Anyway!

Tig - no plans to bring Tiberius back in general but as you know you can always get him by request.

Charles - Jules went inactive in this last AC and I am doing some soul-searching about whether she should come back :/

We discussed a Ben/Nova thing now that he's moved out of Irvingly!

Mariana - could have potentially interesting interactions with either Xavier Davies (who collects cursed artifacts) or Edward Flourish (who runs a book shop) ? Or Oz/Mariana was interesting but IDK we might have milked the initial dynamic for all it's worth and would need a new inciting incident to merit another thread.

Spryly - if you're just up for general chaos and shenanigans I offer one-off interactions with Alfred or Xav (the former of whom would be a bystander to mishaps and the latter of whom would probably be their instigator)

For general society things I also have Alasdair Greyback (bachelor and houseguest) and Margaret Clark (new deb). Oz Dempsey and Victor Daphnel are also ~casually in society but they're both married and one is dead so need more contrived premises xD

Somehow neither of your Hogwarts characters have met/interacted with Millie before! It seems likely that she would at least know Nicodemus as a fellow Ravenclaw, and would have Ancient Studies with Hesper along with the core classes.

These might be the easiest for Millie to write with, I'm open to both summertime threads and something set in the past school term if you're interested!

I offer Nel - She's an Aunt...or cousin....not quiet sure. But she is a Lestrange, that married a Lestrange and is otherwise pretty happy - she has a daughter who is about Tig's kids age. She is also preggers again.

Charles
Vera is my hurl for him. She would probably find him boring, but his ambition and her own social climbing tendancies would probably make her put up with him or at least try. She was prepared to try with Victor Daphnel and they had anti-chemistry.

Hesper
Honoria Rookwood and Odessa Pettigrew have a little club for who they see as future society ladies. Hesper could have been a member in this year past - comes with a fancy blue quill and a book to secretly communicate with each other.

Mariana
don't think I have anyone for her - other than maybe debs that she is 'assessing' for her offspring, which is pretty weak.

Nicodemus
he and Emma should do some ravenclaw prefecting together. Or end up thrown together at some society kid event based only on the assumption that they are ravenclaw prefects.

November
I NEED a thread between November and Benevolence. She has tried rather hard to get to know her inlaws, because she wants the big family vibes, and she doesn't know the truth behind the whole Mel/Ben situation someone should horrify her!

Questor
Don't have much for questor - Rose would give him a good deal on naughty ladies.


Ursula
I think Nel is my only friend for her- or at least someone she would know beyond her own family, as they are around the same age.

Ben/Nova - yesssss again!

Mariana/Oz - I can't remember whether I was being secretive about it or not in my posts but in their last thread she was going to pretend to poison his tea to psyche him out. I don't know if this is useful information but there you have it xD Anyway, I'd happily thread Mariana with any of them! Cursed artifacts aren't her niche but she wouldn't be disinterested in them either, especially if poisons come into it and she likes a good book!

Spryly - Either of those sound great! Poor Spryly has a lot of potential and I don't utilize him as I should.

Nico is a prefect which gives him a great excuse to interact with younger students although I'm not suggesting they have to have a prefecty thread - it's just something that might make him more sociable with younger students than he otherwise might be.
As for Hesper, I'm not sure how much they have in common but I'm up for throwing them together and seeing how they get on.

Tig/Nel - So I think Tig might have written her off as being 'weird' and would probably lowkey avoid her at family gatherings. I like making Tig uncomfortable so I'm definitely up for a thread.

Charles/Vera - I'm happy to thread them and see what happens! Probably Charles being the worst hurling partner ever buuut

Hesper - Are Honoria and Odessa the only members? If so, Hesper would definitely say no, mainly because she'd feel too self-conscious with them being first years (hypocrite) and she'd also feel some sort of loyalty conflict if Flora wasn't involved. It might be entertaining to thread the club invitation thing though! If Flora's involved though she'd follow suit.

Nico/Emma - prefect buddies! Nico could bore her senseless enthusing about quidditch and birds xD

Nova/Benevolence - they're definitely overdue for a thread! They seem to have a lot in common aside from Roman so I expect they'd get along easily. Nova's not one for gossip, especially not family gossip even within the family so she wouldn't just spill all the deets but if the conversation somehow took a turn in that direction she'd probably have a hell of time trying not to be rude or dishonest whilst also giving as little information as possible.

Ursula/Nel - I think her opinion might be similar to Tig's but way more chill. Wow Ursula with chill, who saw that coming? Anyway, I'm up for threading them but I think she might be someone Ursula would keep somewhat at arms length within the UCPB social circle. Like not excluding her but just not making extra effort to get close to her if that makes sense?

I will be back later with more but if there's ever an opportunity for Nova/Mel i'd love to do it. Could backdate it to Benevolence/Roman's wedding too? Not sure how that would work but Mel would have had her best face on due to family+her best friend marrying Roman

Err I can offer Marion Flourish who is new and needs either friends or enemies from schooldays. Think she and November would be peers
For your society types I have Nel Lestrange's until-now-thought-dead sister, former cat Diana Selwyn. If nothing else she's a riot at parties and pretending she enjoys being divorced
For misc WC need and occassional hurls-that-shouldn't-happen, I offer Thomas Harvey who people hire for bartending needs at parties OR as a private investigator. ...he has range?
If you need a law enforcement cop type Cassian Valenduris can be nice to look at

I haven't done anything prefecty yet, so I would definitely be open to that. Millie thinks she'd make a good prefect someday (even if Maxwell Beck might disagree!) and she would love a chance to hear about what her fellow schoolmates get up to. If Nico's willing to share, that is.

Or worse for her, he might catch Millie doing something she shouldn't. I'm sure she'd be as mortified as he is about it, for whatever that would do to help or hinder the solution there. I'm open to other ideas as well.

I'm not sure about Hesper either, other than being in classes together they haven't had a chance to be thrown together. Maybe they simply don't need to have much in common other than just to talk about general happenings at an event, either.
