Seeking Characters for a Plot - Miriam Hitchens - May 8, 2023

This plot requires two families - one white (because of the playby I've chosen for my character), one open. The short of it is simple. Two individuals (her about 20, him of an appropriate marrying age) enter into an engagement because it's an on-paper perfect match. Both families are rather well-off for their standing (which is variable - they could be wealthy upper class or upper middle class), and the match is appropriate enough. I don't think they're pureblood families.

A few months into the engagement, he attacked his fiancee (and not just with his fists). During the struggle, she managed to grab her wand and fire off a Killing Curse - the only thing her panicked mind could calculate at the time. Which means not only did she kill her fiance, but she used an Unforgivable to do so. Whoops, double whammy.

Only it's a triple whammy, because no one (at least, no one important) believes she acted in self-defense. Not even her own family. The only person who believes her is a maid, and she wasn't in the room when it happened.

So the playby I have in mind is Joey King circa The Princess. I need her family, her fiance's family, and probably the maid who believes her. The attack happened about a week before whenever I get her made and accepted. Which means she's a young, well-to-do lady on the run for murder. :D Aside from her family and obviously the dead fiance (who definitely isn't a ghost because I'm not saying anyone has to play that kind of jerk), every character involved in this plot is 100% open to anything (except the fact that I don't wanna make them purebloods). They could be anyone. Hell, she could have even been marrying a cousin of your established family if you want. Just note that the fiance's family will be in various stages of mourning, as determined by their relation to him.

Making an addendum to this while listening to my math professor's irritating voice:

I don't need a lot of characters for this plot. Primarily, I would like to have my character's mother and one of her other siblings (she has 2 or 3 siblings, but I'm leaving the precise number open for flexibility), as well as 2-3 members of the fiance's family and the maid. The Incident will happen at a party at some well-to-do ball, wherein the fiance manages to persuade my character into the lord of the house's bedroom, which is where things specifically happen. Because this is not where people are expected to be, it takes about an hour for the fiance to be discovered, and by then my character has fled the property.

The maid links up with my character later on in the Hogsmeade slums, which is what my character will be using as a base of operations. The maid is 16-18 and at most has a second-year education; everyone else involved is incredibly open, save for the fact that they all blame my character for her fiance's death.

I'd like to have these connections made before making the character, if possible, because this plot would involve my character trying to persuade at least her mother of what really happened.
