A few questions regarding Goblins...

RE: Goblin Questions - Elias Grimstone - November 11, 2022

Hi Bran!

These are just my ~thoughts, other members are welcome to chime in if they have other ideas:

Lifespan: I would assume they live a similar length or a little longer than wizards, like perhaps on average ~200 years or so? I can imagine a 50 year old goblin still seeming "young" whereas wizards/humans would call that middle-aged. In recent wizarding history I doubt many goblins have survived to that point, however, given all the bloody rebellions in the last few centuries and presumably violent/premature deaths!

Reputation: I would default to giving a goblin a middling rep, somewhere around 5-7, as wizarding society tends to distrust them but they're still seen as more respectable than, say, vampires. Our only previous played goblin and part-goblin characters that I can recall were Kog and Iziza, so you can take a look at those for vague guidelines :)

Property: On the site our headcanon is that they're often regarded as working class and live in the Slums/Pennyworth. As such, I presume they have the legal right to buy and own property (or technically rent from wizards, however I can't imagine goblins would want to be beholden to wizards in that way and I'm sure they'd often face unfair discrimination as tenants!), but would stick to all-magical areas like Hogsmeade or else in their own magically-protected communities if they feel particularly negatively towards wizards.
