one way or another - Timoleon Maxime - December 5, 2022

December 13, 1892

Aunt Diana Mrs. Maxime,

A portkey is attached for your convenience. It will transport tonight at 9 PM sharp. Don’t miss it. We have a lot to catch up on.

Mr. Timoleon Maxime

A portkey is folded in the middle of the letter – an old newspaper clipping from Le Cri de la Gargouille reporting of her disappearance.

Darling little Leo,

My word, how good it is to hear from you, even if your penmanship has not at all improved. Based on your choice of tone, I do not believe I have a say in the matter regarding our time of meeting? 9 PM is quite late. Have you been keeping busy? Is this why you cannot meet earlier?

In any case, I would be pleased to see you again. I’ve heard marvelous things about how you have risen in the ranks at the Ministry. Quite a departure from the cheeky boy I remember. I appreciate your sweet keepsake of me, as well. To think I was in the paper and you kept record after all these years!

Yours,
Diana

Mrs. Maxime,

Quite busy. Unlike you I have actually done something with my life. You will provide answers, so use this time to get your story straight. I am a very busy man and I don't have a lot of patience for whatever bullshit you're concocting.

Don't flatter yourself. You were accused of murder and it's written down for all eyes to see. Maybe I should post them across London and Hogsmeade so people know your name, no? We'll discuss more tonight. And yes, the ministry. One of the many reason why nine this evening is as early as I can do. It's not my fault, Diana, if you're old and can't seem to keep your eyes open after six PM. I would recommend a cat nap, but you probably had enough of those for your life.
