Thom Pettigrew

37 | Slytherin | UCPB |  Rep 8 | Quidditch Mogul
Background on Thom: an UCPB Quidditch inventor/industry mogul, Thom likes to be seen as an eccentric but what that really means is that he enjoys spending money spontaneously. He sponsors Puddlemere United and has for quite a while. His company, Quality Quaffle and Snitch, produces Quidditch gear and, more recently, Quodpot supplies and Quoderash materials (Quoderash being a Quidditch-like game Thom invented to appeal to ~genteel ladies for whom Quidditch is too brutal). He has two children from his first marriage to Chastity Browne and none from his second (visibly strained) marriage to Hannah Echelon. He is a cousin of Art Pettigrew and will get twitchy if you bring that up because he absolutely despises Art.

Things I want:
  • Quidditch connections: Specifically if anyone else occupies the "Quidditch adjacent but not a player" niche, Thom would like to interact with you. He also regularly attempts to poach players and coaches from other teams to play on Puddlemere, so I'm up for poaching threads. He is openly disdainful of the Holyhead Harpies and Art Pettigrew, so fans of either could have some tense threads with him.

  • Friends: Established friends with August Echelon-Arnost Leon Lupin, Roberto Devine and Aldous Crouch (that I remember? There may have been others I'm forgetting - hit me up if so), Thom could also be friendly with any UC gentlemen who will tolerate his antics. He is a member of Black's and a soft purist but not into the Lestrange power grab/dark arts exploration branch of purebloods, lol.

  • Family: He's related to any Pettigrews through his father's side, Carrows through his mother's side, Brownes and Echelons through his wives, and Prewetts through his late sister who was married to Faustus Prewett before dying in childbirth. He also has two younger brothers who have been played on and off but are super open so if folks are looking for places to stash their new UCPB twenty-somethings, lmk.

  • Protegee: I really like the idea of Thom finding some young man (teens/early twenties) and having an Iron Man/Spiderman dynamic with him. If that appeals to you come find me <3 Thom's only son is ~frail so he has given up on the idea of him taking over the business and is therefore loosely shopping for heirs.

  • Assistant: Continuing the Iron Man parallels, Thom has a personal assistant whom he's quite reliant on; that position is vacant so if you have a character who would be interested shout it out! (either gender okay, MC/WC, respectable-ish unless they had some connection to Thom that predated their dis-respectability)

  • Romance Thom is... not faithful :P He's not actively shopping for a mistress but he's also not particularly in love with his wife anymore and he's the sort who a) flirts a lot and b) falls in love with very little encouragement and c) falls hard when he does. If you want someone to make grand romantic gestures and buy you pretty things, Thom can probably be that person. I think he's been mistress-free for a while but he is absolutely not opposed.

  • Ghosts of Plots Past: I'm mostly looking at the Blacks here lol, but if anyone else had things going on with Thom and wants to revisit / decide what has happened since then hit me up <3

I don't think Spryly is exactly protege material but he's a quidditch nerd, professional quidditch player wannabe, and was a broommakers apprentice once upon a time. Most importantly they're the same height.

Henry Thompsett could be a possible protégé candidate. He loves quidditch and he's the youngest of his family with a mostly absent father especially since his mother died. We can have a few summer threads and see how the dynamic works. Even if he doesn't fit what you have in mind, I have no problems threading anyway.

Potential mistress... Steliana Nicolescu though she's not the sort to sleep around and is wealthy enough she can buy her own wealthy things but that doesn't mean she won't warm up to flirting. More of a play it by ear sort of thing, then again most romance I prefer to be developed in game.

Idk about protege, but Elon Wildsmith is a Rich Kid, who dropped out of school after his OWLs, because his father died and he inherited. He's now chilling at social events and I feel there's potential for Thom to maybe try and get 'friendly' with him to take advantage of his money? Elon could be easily swayed to become a business partner and pay like 70% for a new stadium or something. xD

I don't think we've ever done a thread with he and Ginevra Blackwood, but it would, at the moment, likely be generic party things. Maybe just established friendship, until something specific strikes.

Friends territory would be Samuel - pb but not at all purist, but he does have an exceptionally pretty wife.

Thaddeus is a hard purist but plays himself in public as softer.

Familywise - I have Bernard Prewett - grumpy misanthrope seer.


Cadawalader Selwyn would give his left nut to be included in the protege circle! His own parents are desperately withholding and he is fixated on some sort of parental approval, even if it’s from an unrelated older male. He also wants to be a team owner one day and still isn't over the loss of his captaincy to Cameron Gillenwater due to the bludger ban. He has begged his father to take on a team, but he isn't interested. He's also academically strong. Cad would ADORE this. He was seeking some sort of summer intern type thing, if Thom was interested he would definitely loved to have spent the summer shadowing him and working on quidditchy thing.

- Down to be friends with Samuel, if he wouldn't make things too weird if invited to smallish parties alongside Aldous Crouch. If he would make things weird (or would have in the past), Thom isn't as keen. Thom also wouldn't be going after anyone's wife unless they started it, haha. He's not predatory or even actively looking for affairs, he just flirts a lot and takes very little encouragement to get infatuated.
- Thaddeus could also be friendly from the club!
- Ginny - yes Thom could be friendly with her father/brother, probably isn't particularly close to her unless you're looking to mistress hurl haha
- Cad - I'm keen to thread them and see what happens >D Thom doesn't really do internships usually but he might if he got personally invested in someone or they had a particularly cool project they wanted to pitch him. So I think let's thread them interacting socially first and then plan from there! (I'm down to backdate if you're inclined, or not, either way)

- Yes let's thread Elon and Thom >D Floo party? IDK if Thom would set out to take advantage of him but if they got to talking and it seemed to be easy to do he wouldn't not take advantage of him hahaha
