To say that Yuri was excited was an understatement! His first proper tournament! He really wished it had been someone he liked less - and wasn't likely to be the captain of the Quidditch team next semester. He had a bet on with some of the others and his money was on Fudge.
When called upon to cast he stepped forward and attempted a disarming spell on Mister Fudge.

Once the niceties were done with and they were told to begin, Paxton countered Podsnappers spell with a shield charm.

Paxton would feel a little more pride in taking the round if Podsnapper was just a wee bit older. Even so when he was bid to cast again to begin the next round, Paxton cast the jelly fingers jinx.

Yuri smiled in spite of his loss and in the defence position he tried to conjure a storm between him and Paxton to prevent the other from properly aiming at him.
