Juniper had let Mr. Blackwood stew in confusion for long enough, although she wouldn’t have said anything if she hadn’t received a letter from her father, confirming he’d be signing her out Saturday evening. She sends a large brown owl with the letter.

Mr. Blackwood,
I do hope you enjoyed your gift earlier. There was a bit of confusion it was coming from me and not to me.
Well as you like to put it, I am still a child for twelve more days, so I suppose I’ll use it to my advantage. I am glad your mother enjoyed the flowers. They do have meaning behind them. Care to take a guess?
You're kruger-spoof, Olixander Blackwood. Orange blossoms and ivy together mean friendship, so while I know your heart is shattered that I’m not deeply in love with you, I promise you’ll be fine.
Olixander grinned at Ms. Edevane's last, decidedly forceful letter. He could practically hear her defiance through the page and he carefully folded the page up. Then, tossing it smugly onto his desk, he made his way back out into the main house to rejoin his family.
