Zelda squeezed his hand. She didn't want to say goodbye; not right now and not in general. She maneuvered herself, still holding his hand, so that her knees were no longer in front of her on the couch but so that she was sitting on her legs instead.
"Will you kiss me?" she asked.
Other than the kiss when he was dying, it had been a very long time - they were always hovering around each other, or fighting, or having conversations where neither of them said what they meant. She wanted to kiss him, and to recreate that warmth in her abdomen that she remembered when she thought about kissing him.

Alfred grinned, while at the same time his chest fluttered with unexpected butterflies. He'd told her he wanted to kiss her when he'd invited her over, so it shouldn't have really been a surprise that they'd arrived at this point, but he still felt a little giddy to hear her ask.
"Yes," he said, shifting to close the distance between them on the couch while simultaneously pulling her in closer. "A hundred times, if you want me to."
