She smiled brightly as he accepted her invitation. A conversation with a fellow traveler always did wonders for her spirit. Plus, he may have journeyed to places she had yet to hear tales of, which too gave her such joy. Yes, a drink with Mr. Darrow was the best way she could think of to forget the evilness of her last captain.

"Jupiter Smith. Everyone but my mother calls me Jo." She had insisted upon it upon the discovery of Jove, another nickname for her planet. Jo had long since forgiven any grudges she might have carried over her name choice, but that didn't mean she wholly accepted the oddity of her family. Especially not Mars' strange naming choices. How her twin thought the name Lawyer appropriate Jo would never understand.

Jupiter, had she said, or was it Juniper? Both were rather nontraditional as far as names went, but Alfred wasn't the sort to be too terribly hung up on that, given all of the places he'd been and all of the people he'd met. Either way, it was a nice enough name, he supposed, with a smooth, pleasant sound. He could imagine that most people would be confused by it, though, so he couldn't blame her for using a nickname instead. Not that it was likely to matter much to him, at least at the moment.

"Well, I imagine some people must call you Miss Smith," he joked lightly. "Or — is Miss the right title? I don't know much about archaeology, as a field," he admitted. They could all be called Doctors, in the same way that Muggles sometimes were when they were scholars even if they knew nothing of medicine, or some other title he knew nothing about. He couldn't recall if the scientific ward on the Sycorax had used titles like that — but to be fair, he hadn't interacted with them much until after the shipwreck, and once they were wandering in the wilderness it was hardly the time to stand on protocol.

"I'm Captain Alfred Darrow," he added. "Though I think you knew that already."

Despite having been referred to as Miss Smith throughout the entirety of her life in England, Jo still despised the sound of it. It was rigid and formal in a way she never quite fit in with. She would nearly always rather feign familiarity with someone than have to hear Miss Smith all the bloody time. Thankfully, she was able to get away with it in most of the countries she visited. It was merely something she would have to suffer throughout her time here.

"Miss is right. I'm not yet experienced enough to be considered a doctor, plus it would require far more schooling than I'd have the patience to sit for." Hogwarts had been such a hit or miss with her interests. If not for her loftier pursuits, she wouldn't have survived it past her fifth year. OWLs level education could only have gotten her so far.

"I did know that, thanks to my brother's interest. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
