Did You Know?
Discovered today that spotted dick is a pudding with raisins in it. But more importantly that "dick" was the victorian word for pudding. — Fallin
His sister and her group were not yet performing, however. Instead it was a plain looking young woman that he did not recognize. She seemed to believe she was singing.

Appearance
Once rather impish in appearance, Adrienne's features have since rounded out from her childhood as she nears being a full-fledged witch. There is still a certain sharpness in her jawline, which is balanced out by wide prominent cheekbones and almond blue eyes. She usually wears her sandy auburn hair in the latest fashions, however, she is more interested in academics rather than fashion, and – were her friends look too close – could be seen just a week or so delayed in wearing the latest thing. When in the sun, she develops a smattering of freckles across her nose and on her cheeks. Before she debuted, Adrienne wore her hair in a half updo, often incorporating plaits into her hairstyles. After graduation and debut, she likes to wear it up in a style she read about in an American fashion magazine that seems much more manageable - something called a Gibson Girl fashion. She uses her left hand for wandwork but is right-hand dominant for most other activities.
History
• CHILDHOOD •
------- [ f r a n c e ] -------
1873 | A young pureblood debutante, the light of her family, discovers she is pregnant in the midst of a season and after a tryst with a dashing older man. She is swiftly sent to France by her family in order to bear this shame away from English society. Though her family is appalled by her actions, this young woman secretly comes to love the rather active set of twins she is bearing. Her family, however, swears her to an Unbreakable Vow that she will give the children up and return home.

1874 | Adrienne is born at exactly midnight on July 14th, 1874 -- or, early morning of Fête de la Fédération in France, the second of twins. At this point, they are separated from their mother and immediately sent to an orphanage where they are adopted by distant cousins of their biological father. There, they grow up in the French countryside of Annecy: a beautiful town with sprawling icy canals and cobblestone streets.

1878 | At the age of four, Adrienne is already fluent in French and English with Ari fluent in English and Spanish; both having been governed by their nanny, Fiorella whom Adrienne affectionately calls Fi. After learning each other has mastered a different language, both insist on learning the other's different languages.

In addition to being their nanny, Fiorella is also a midwife of the town. She soon finds that the little one is fascinated by her career and with the "mother's" permission, takes Adrienne her during her visits to the pregnant women of the town as long as it does not interfere with Adrienne's schooling.

1880 | The age of six sees Adrienne perform her first act of magic. Upon visiting one of their patients, Adrienne places her hands on the mother's stomach and states clearly that it will be a girl. While at the time this seems inconsequential to the mother of the unborn babe, the day is thrown into chaos when Adrienne says with certainty that the baby is illegitimate. The reaction of the mother (and subsequently the family) is enough to confirm the child's statements. Fiorella's reputation is slightly tarnished with this event, which causes her to keep Adrienne at a distance. While understanding now what her words had done, she is still extremely hurt by this and runs crying to her brother.

1882 | At this point, the relationship between Adrienne and Fiorella is still distant but Adrienne insists upon attending to the women of Annecy in addition to keeping to her studies. Resolve wins over whatever doubts Fiorella had in thinking the girl wouldn't be able to keep up; in fact, she quite excels at both tasks.

1884 | With both twins at the age of 10, they both fully expect to attend Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. The universe seems to have other plans, and both are sent to Wales to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To Adrienne, this is an extreme blow, and she is thoroughly incensed at this decision. Her search for answers as to why is fruitless however and she sets off for The Selwyn Manor with bitterness in her heart. Before she can leave, however, Fiorella gifts her a small silver cat found swimming at night in the canals of the village. Adrienne names this cat Artemis.

------- [ w a l e s ] -------
Upon their arrival, the twins do not like Wales. In addition to the dreariness of the country, both miss the countryside and canals of Annecy. The manor is large enough for them to be left to their own devices, but eventually, it is Aristide that decides the both of them must accept their lot in life and attempt to blend in lest this whole experience be hell for them.

• HOGWARTS •
1885 | Having read up on all the houses, Adrienne decides she is to be in Ravenclaw, the house which most embodies what she values in herself. Yet again, however, the universe has other plans and she is placed in Slytherin; not something she is entirely pleased about and would have most likely tried to shred the hat to bits if she had not been in front of the entire Great Hall.

To add insult to injury, Aristide is admitted to Ravenclaw; ironically, he wanted to be in Slytherin. Watching her twin walk off to a different table than her affects her more than she realizes, and from that point on the two still remain inseparable despite being in different houses.

1887 | One day during a summer break, Adrienne witnesses her aunt Ambrosia transform into an animal. She is floored by this feat of magic and immediately launches herself into learning how to be an animagus.

1889 | For her O.W.Ls, Adrienne chooses Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes. While it is a mild disappointment that she does not make prefect, she finds herself content with the administration's decision (really, she has no choice in the matter, but she conveniently sidesteps that fact).

1891 | The holiday break of December 1891 proves to be quite revealing for Adrienne. First she asks Uncle Trystan if it is required that she search for a husband after her debut. While Trystain says she won’t be forced, it is heavily implied that it would do benefit her to find a match as soon as possible. She has little time to ponder this. The very next day, she and Aristide are alone during a walk at the Selwyn Estate in Wales. After a conversation about love, Aristide reveals that he is gay and in love with another man. This fact shocks Adrienne, however she insists she still loves her brother no matter what. There and then she makes a silent vow to protect him at all costs. It is also after this conversation that Adrienne realizes the sooner she makes a match for herself, the more Aristide might be protected in the event that anything happen.

• LIFE AFTER DEBUT •

1892 | Graduation and the beginning of her first season as a debutante. As if to end the school year on a high note, Adrienne finally achieves her first Animagus transformation in the form of a Fallow Deer. She decides to remain unregistered for the time being. Though she doesn't have high hopes, Adrienne begins to keep an eye out for a potential suitable match (though, truth be told she doesn't look too hard. It's only her first.) It's not long after she debuts though, that she's told in late June that Mr. Cassius Lestrange has asked for her hand in marriage.
Personality
– AMBITIOUS – VENGEFUL – BRIGHT – STUBBORN – PROTECTIVE – OBSERVANT – CALCULATING –

While not quiet by any means, Adrienne knows what it means to be a woman of society. She is resigned to the fact that she might end up with someone that she does not like, and even worse, torn away from her twin. As such, she does her best to take in whatever scenario she is in and speaks with a calculating tone. She is an introvert and often doesn't feel comfortable amongst people she does not know, though will endure it because it is expected of her.

True to her house, Adrienne is ambitious and cunning to the core. While most of this is her character, later in life Adrienne would probably admit the reason for her excellent marks in school is a desire to prove herself as not a foreigner and to fit in amongst her friends. And to beat her twin, but that's for another time.

In true French fashion, her exterior can be rather hard to break. She can seem perfectly friendly, though any potential friends can forget ever learning anything about her past. Once labeled as her friend, however, Adrienne is fiercely loyal and will def. not hesitate to cut a bitch if anyone tries to hurt them. She is especially protective of the younger pupils too and sees them as innocent until proven otherwise (of course, many have completed this feat and have most likely been given the stink eye because of it). Despite this, she does not actively seek to help strangers, and will often choose a selfish path if no physical harm comes to anyone else (i.e. having access to better notes to get better grades). Once she does see someone in physical danger, she feels the need to step in and help in any way she can.

Other than her animals, Adrienne is not a sentimental person. What could be perceived as being generous in handing out trinkets to her friends – to her – is simply handing out excess of what she does not need. Steal from her, however, and one might just end up with dead mice in their bed courtesy of Artemis.

Other
• APOLLO & ARTEMIS •
Adrienne and Aristide are two sides of the same coin. Sun and moon, fire and water. Growing up they circled each other endlessly. When one took their first steps, the other swiftly followed. The next milestone was completed by the other and two minutes later the next one completed it and so on and so forth. Throughout their childhood, this could be taken as not only competitiveness but compulsiveness. They wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless it involves another body. The day that Adrienne weds will be a dark day for Aristide, and vice versa.

Despite their competitive nature, the bond between the two is unbreakable. When one is slighted, the other jumps to their rescue providing swift vengeance and a much-needed respite. The fact that they are separated by houses is of little consequence to both of them, regardless of the devastation both felt at first.

Given all this, they do not need to be constantly together in order to have a strong bond. Aristide is very much into his music while Adrienne enjoys herbology, potions and the outdoors. Both lead rather independent lives from one another yet seem to sense each other at opposite ends of the hall.
