Meddlesome mother, but make her a squib <3
The thought of marrying Cecily Gallivan had occurred to Fitz in the way that the thought of marrying any attractive young lady did: a firm maybe and a hasty step away to more pleasurable topics, like sport or brandy.Fitzroy Prewett in Well. That took a turn.

Idunn Fraser

Full Name: Idunn (pron. “Eden”) Caroline Fraser

Birthdate: May 5th, 1875

Age: 15

Occupation: Student

Blood Status: Halfblood

Residence: Swallowbury, Irvingly

Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw

Aspen, 10¾ inches, with a phoenix tail feather core. Pliant.

Ewart Fraser, Father [1834]
Ailsa Fraser nee Phillips, Mother [1842]
Aegir SURNAME nee Fraser, Sister [1860], and family.
Astrild Scamander nee Fraser, Sister [1865], and family.
Tyr Fraser, Brother [1872]
At five feet, five inches, Idunn is a lithe, long, wiry creature who has grown out of most of her childhood padding but not yet traded it in for the feminine padding of womanhood. Her pale skin is lightly freckled, as accompanies most with orange hair like hers. Idunn’s eyes are grey and her gaze quite pointed, as though willing you to forfeit your secrets (or ignoring you entirely, and just thinking really hard about something). She is right-handed naturally, but works to be left-handed as she once read that the greatest potioneers were. As a result, her wandwork suffers.

MOODBOARD | Idunn has always been the sort to think herself more grown up than she is, which wins her friendships with some and decidedly alienates others. She is not the sort to believe anything she did not or cannot experience for herself, and is most content amongst like-minded people. She is quite loyal to her family—she may critique them, you may not. Though Idunn considers herself to be painfully normal, few of her peers do.
  • Abysmal at French, much to her governess’ dismay. She is, however, proficient at written Latin, as she sees it as far more practical.
  • Performs decidedly above level where potions are concerned, with a particular interest in poisons and their antidotes.

  • Boggart: Herself, vapid and childish
  • Amortentia: The smoke from an extinguished candle, dittany, and old parchment
  • Fears: The dark, the unseen
  • OWL-Level Courses: Ancient Runes, Divination (Merlin help her!), Ancient Studies

  • Alcohol turns wise men to fools and wise women to harlots
  • “Church of Magical Jesus” nutjobs are, indeed, nutjobs
Early Years

1875 | One May morning sees Idunn Caroline Fraser born to particularly eccentric parents. At the time of her arrival, her eldest sibling is well into her time at Hogwarts, and her next nearest is toddling about. There is also another sister, but Te hasn’t decided her birth year yet. Idunn is a quiet baby with what seems to be a look of perpetual judgment upon her small features.

1879 | Her first act of magic sees her slam a door in her father’s face as he was interrupting her quiet time.

1881 | Idunn finds herself intrigued (in an academic way, not a sociopathic one) by how effective poison is at ridding the cellar of rats. This begins her fascination with the subject in general.

1884 | Tyr departs for Hogwarts, leaving Idunn the last child under the Fraser roof. While the housekeeper and her governess do all in their power to keep her more normal than her parents (a low bar), she is often dismissive of their efforts, preferring the company of books to that of people.

1886 | It seems like nothing short of a miracle when Idunn is finally able to attend Hogwarts, the months prior having dragged on so terribly that the young witch thought she might never be free of the family home and able to grace the castle’s halls. Her curious mind sees her drawn easily to Ravenclaw, where she at once both finds compatriots and is horribly let down by how silly many of her peers in the ostensibly “intellectual” house are. Not surprisingly, she finds herself most drawn to Potions among her courses.

1888 | Now a third year, Idunn happily adds Ancient Runes and Ancient Studies to her course load. In a moment of (she insists) madness, she takes on Divination too, hoping it will unveil the secrets of the world to her. Thus far, it has not.

1889 | Astrild marries and gives birth to a child without ever seemingly to court or be pregnant. This is highly suspicious, and the only explanation that Idunn is ever given is "something from work" was involved. While she dislikes not getting the full story, she places her investigation of the matter on the back burner—for now.

1890 | Astrild fucks off to Norway. Idunn figures this is probably more interesting than being a wife & mother anyways.
  • Her family is generally quite eccentric.
  • Her mother is a lingerie designer.
  • She is aggressively interested in potions—and poisons

Plot Preferences:

  • I am almost always down for throwing characters together if you have some sort of 'hook' for me because...
  • I don't care for "meet & greet" threads and if I find myself in one, am prone to causing explosions.
  • For planned (non-open) threads, I prefer to have a vague idea of setting and potential goals, but the the understanding that those goals may not come to pass—characters can be dicks that way ;)
  • I do not pre-plan romance. Even if my character is happily married, there should always be the understanding that this can change!
  • I prefer fade-to-black for sexual situations. I don't have anything against smut per se, but I would rather write no smut than bad smut!
  • I am a teacher who also volunteers with young children. Student-professor relationships are firm no-go areas for me.
  • My posts typically range in length from 100 to 300 words. They will sometimes be longer and sometimes shorter, depending on what the thread demands.
  • Please give me a heads up if you intend on anything that can damage my character's reputation or send them into mourning!

Roleplaying doesn't strike me as particularly VE, but I love the idea of incorporating a ball or dinner into etiquette class as a test. Perhaps the teacher ~inflames passions by putting all WC students into service positions?
