Lean, lanky, with knobby knees and elbows. His head is just a tad too large for his body. His hair is so dark it’s nearly black and is thick - which means it’s often sticking up in all directions which gives him a perpetually wind-blown, ruffled appearance. He’s always looked a bit older than he was, even as a child. Not yet thirty, he already has crows feet and smile lines (which he supposes is better than other kinds of lines.) He typically is in his healer robes and often forgets to shave for a few days, which leaves him scruffy. Fin is not known for being fashionable and often wears mismatched socks. His wand hand is his right. He stands at 5 ft. 8.25 in.
1861 | Fin is born the third child to a continually growing family and is an “Irish Twin” to sister Maeve, who overshadows him with her feisty personality. Fin is content to take the back seat in all the things. Being the third child, he is expected to go into medicine.
1868 | Fin’s first act of magic arrives and is rather boring compared to his sister’s - he sneezes and a blueberry bush lodges itself in his bedroom. It proves difficult to remove and Fin spends some time harvesting blueberries for the family breakfast table. It is later re-planted in a more appropriate place on the estate, but still viewable from his window.
1873 | Fin is off to Hogwarts a year behind Maeve and cousins Lorcan and Dublin. He’s sorted into Gryffindor. He isn’t the best student, has a tendency to forget his assignments and is a bit scatterbrained, but otherwise is able to do well enough to get the needed grades to become a healer post graduation. He excels in Herbology and spends much of his time in the greenhouse. He also has a close friendship with @’Nathalie Jennings’ who he has a crush on, but is too chicken to act on it. He fancies several other girls (his friends remember him by seasons - whichever girl he was soft on at the time.) By the time they leave Hogwarts, Nathalie saddles herself to not-Fin and he decides to move on from his school boy crushes all together.
1880 | Fin begins his training as a healer. Spoiler alert: he isn’t that great at it but manages to squeak through training. He wants to be a potion and plant poisoning healer but is terrible at potions, so settles for magical bugs instead.
1881 | Fin becomes a full-fledged healer. He fancies himself in love with one girl at a time until she either makes it clear she is not interested or gets herself hitched. He’s heartbroken for a few weeks before he finds the next girl who is “the one.” His family has taken to never taking him seriously, declaring him a dreamer.
1884 | The Laughing Plague takes several family members, coworkers and his latest crush. In his mind, she’ll always be the tragic heroine who died too young.
1888 | At present, he keeps himself busy crushing on one of his coworkers and cultivates the greenhouse he’s started up at home. He has enough to be able to open a florist shop but fears his family’s reaction to going against the grain Maeve-style and instead keeps it firmly in the hobby category.
Sweet, forever a romantic, scatter-brained, mild-mannered, chivalry ain’t dead
