Fair olive skin-tone with a scattering of brown freckles. Thick, wildly wavy hair the color of roasted chestnuts that is too long to be fashionable, with a slash of equally dark eyebrows beneath. Olive green eyes, a straight nose, overly defined cheekbones that. His too-lean build makes his cheeks look nearly sunken in. He uses his left hand to write, but his right hand to wield his wand. He wears a mix of muggle and wizard fashions in earthy colors, though olive in particular is his favorite because it brings out his eyes. Five foot eight inches tall.
1862-1872: Born into the ‘seer’ generation of the Eventides to the grandchild of the ruling matriarch. As one of the eldest great grandchildren, he was coddled and doted on. Naturally, this meant he was very much a spoiled brat.
1874-1877: Off to Hogwarts Matty goes. He’s sorted into Slytherin and quickly learns that nobody else is as impressed with him as he is. By his second year, he’s much more tolerable. The summer between his second and third year, he has his first vision. It’s unimpressive, merely predicting that a cat would give birth to eight kittens beneath the tree in the front lawn. Three days later, it came true, and Matty had his pick of the litter to bring along to Hogwarts for his third year.
1878-1882: Matty’s a decent enough student, though he has zero interest in any extracurriculars. He’d rather be spending his time playing wizards chess and figuring out the passwords to the girls’ diaries in the dead of night. (They wouldn’t share their gossip with him personally, so he’d had to take other measures.) He selects Divination, Arithmancy, and Ancient Runes for his O.W.L classes. He receives an A in Divination, which is an embarrassment to his family. He does manage to secure an E for Arithmancy and an O in Ancient Runes, however. (He also receives an O in Potions and Charms, and an E in Astronomy and Transfiguration.) For NEWTs, he scores an O in Potions and Arithmancy, an E in Charms and Astronomy, and an A in Ancient Runes.
1883-1887: While his ultimate goal is to work in the Department of Mysteries (thanks to the pressure from the Eventides), he works as an employee in various Ministry departments until he’s old enough to become an Unspeakable. His entire family begins to pressure him to marry so that his wife can start popping out babies immediately. He comes up with every excuse under the sun to avoid it. He entertains himself by answering random ads and bulletins, stealing memories people won’t miss to make some extra cash, and other vaguely devious activities.
1888: Finally twenty-one, he becomes an Unspeakable and avoids everyone in his family so that he doesn’t have to hear about how old he is and how many children he should have had by now (between two and three, apparently.)
1894: He’s promoted as the Assistant Head of the Department of Mysteries, which makes his family pleased with him (for once.) It does not save him from their harassment about fatherhood, however.
1895: There’s a storm brewing within his family as his cousins battle out who is going to be the next Eventide matriarch, which gives him a much-needed respite from their nonsense. He has his sights set on becoming the head of his department.
