Before	Dhan Jae-hyun, a cursebreaker, immigrated to Russia in 1866, where he met his future wife, Natalia, in 1867, while she was visiting her maternal family. At her insistence, after they married in 1869, Jae-hyun became a healer and immigrated again, this time to London, England, to raise a family with his half-Russian, half-English wife. Their first child, a son, arrives in the summer of 1870, and their second, a daughter, is born in December 1874.

1878	A third child is born, another daughter, and is swiftly named Stella by her mother. Her father, as with his prior children, gives her a traditional Korean middle name, Ye-rin, and, as with her elder siblings, exclusively calls her that in the home.
1881	Stella's older brother goes off to Hogwarts. Stella, only two years old at the time, only realizes that her brother is nowhere to be found. This hits especially hard on her third birthday, just over a month after his departure, and results in Stella's first act of magic, which results in all the furniture in the nursery adhering itself upside-down to the ceiling.
1886	Stella's sister goes off to Hogwarts. Stella, now old enough to understand what school is, especially now that she has regular lessons with the governess, does not panic quite so hard as to have a bout of accidental magic, though she does have a brief bout of worry over her own impending sojourn into the hallowed halls that, over summers now passed, her brother would not stop talking about.
1890	The time has come. Stella's acceptance letter arrives, and with its arrival comes the journey to purchase schooling supplies such as books and robes. She quickly finds that she rather likes the way wizarding robes fit so loosely, though Mother and the governess insist she continue to wear the restrictive undergarments designed by muggles. It's not much of a problem, except she's also placed in training stays, which she knows she'll have to keep up with.

1890-92 First Years	Stella is sorted into Hufflepuff upon arrival at Hogwarts, and quickly proves an anxious bean. She is not awful in her classes, but she's not spectacular, either. Well. In anything except Astronomy. Before her first year ends, the cruise Mother and Father were taking wrecks. Father is recovered, alive, having made it to a lifeboat that was found on April 11th, but Mother's body is not recovered. Father still holds out hope that perhaps she made it to a safe haven, but this hope is ruined when he is confronted with the facts, and the family is officially in mourning when Stella arrives home from school. Her second year is uneventful.
1892-95 OWL Years	For her OWL electives, Stella selects Ancient Studies and, at Father's suggestion, Divination, thinking it might reduce her anxiety. Unfortunately, though she shows aptitude in the discipline, it does in fact make her anxiety worse. She sits for her OWLs and, for the first time, attends the Hogwarts Coming Out Ball as a guest (as she was still too young to attend, even to support her elder sister), to prepare herself for what is to come when she graduates.
