Childhood
1872: Victoria is born into a working-class family who already had five energetic boys. She was a quiet yet curious baby.
1873: Raymond James dies after a terrible case of scarlet fever. The rest of the family lucky enough to not catch it.
1874: Fletcher James is born.
1875: Cora James is born still. Victoria’s parents decide to stop trying for more children, the heartbreak from losing two enough for them to never want to risk it again.
1877: Muggles discover that there are wizards living among them, yet for some reason Victoria’s parents do not seem to be surprised when they hear the news. Instead their thoughts turn to worry for the precious daughter, hoping the things they had noticed where just tricks of wind and light.
Hogwarts
1883: Despite the excitement that should come with receiving a letter to a magic school, Victoria’s feelings lead more to fear and growing disappointment. Even with her older brothers working, she knew her family could not afford it. The First Year Scholarship took some of her stress away, and she was able to enjoy the ride on the train and the sorting ceremony. Even if people were looking at her strangely. It was not until she learnt of the academic scholarships did she fully relax, as much as a student focused on getting nothing but O’s could be. She developed a couple of friendships with people who did not mind her muggle bloodlines, but she was far more focused on doing well so she could keep coming to school.
1884: Achieving the Full Academic scholarship for her second year, Victoria was focused on keeping it for the remainder of her years. She was not going to burden her family with her education. If her brothers could work, then she could study.
1885: Victoria was extremely annoyed at being sent home early.
1887: Stress hits her once again with the lineage policy, but it is mostly smooth sailing. Were the girls around her start talking boys and marriage, Victoria only buries her nose deeper in her books to keep her scholarship.
1888: Between her fifth and sixth year she decides to start training to be an Animagi. Victoria choses Charms, Herbology, Potions, Transfiguration and Arithmancy as her NEWT subjects as they were the subjects that she had the best marks in. In hindsight she should have stuck with four, but she wanted to prove to herself she could handle the five.
1890: Victoria finishes Hogwarts with great marks, even if her Arithmancy grade dropped. Shortly after, she registers as an Animagi not wanting to get in trouble.
Present
Post-September 1890: Finishing Hogwarts, Victoria knew she would not be able to return to the Muggle world after spending the last seven years of her life nose deep learning about the magical one. Perhaps becoming a Departmental Secretary was a bit below her intelligence level, but Victoria is not one to turn down opportunities. Besides, she hopes that the work will be filled with new experiences and that it will have its challenges. Perhaps one day she can raise to a different level, but for now, Victoria is sure that it will suite her needs fine.
