So I've had two characters floating around in my head since before the move, and I'm toying with the idea of merging them into ONE GLORIOUS BEING but want to test the waters first for fear of apping her and then LEAVING HER TO DIE IN A PIT OF USELESSNESS.

Off the bat she'll be a temporary character, but I have three scenarios under which she could feasibly stay on but those are irrelevant right now. ANYWAYS, X was born elsewhere to a working class family. As she got older, they realized she was a seer in some capacity. She eventually went on to tout her abilities as higher than they were, and eventually used "Matchmaking Visions" and their associated friendships/income to elevate herself to the middle class.

One of her most successful matches will have returned to England a few months ago from that same elsewhere and have been very devastated on her bestie's behalf at their singleness, so she'll send for the seer that found her SUCH HAPPINESS~, arriving in May!

Where do you come in?

I have a couple of ideas of what could be done with her — for the most part, she'd be a supporting character in your story moreso than the hero of her own. She has had some genuine success, more coincidental success, matches that suck but they're convinced they're just doing something wrong because IT WAS FORETOLD!!!111 so they pretend it works, and total flops. Ideas include:
  • Character facilitated Hurling Roulette, which I do most years anyways but now there's an added element.
  • A "Matchmaker's Ball" for UC singles and the people who drag them there.
  • "Romantic Counselling" for new debs
  • Psychic couples' therapy for existing pairs that are on the outs
  • WITCH WEEKLY GET AT ME
  • Bribe your way into the arms of you beloved, or bribe someone else out of their arms
Etc.

Is there anyone that would find a way to force their character into one or more of the above situations?
With the sheer number of characters I have, I definitely have people that would fit a couple of those scenarios!
Honestly I don't know that I have anyone remotely useful at the moment but I just wanted to say she sounds AWESOME you should do it.
Hello its ur neighborhood Weekly Wench, here to help.

I would 120% be down for a character-facilitated hurling roulette or Matchmaking Ball. I don't have any existing characters that could help or host, but I have coming up soon that could be involved~

I'm like 89.5% sure Bella would not be interested in romantic counseling, but I'm summoning Fallin for because based off what I've seen, it sounds like something her cousin might be interested in dragging them to Wink

would definitely seek her out if her name came up in conversation >D

is also getting desperate, send help.
I have plenty of dudes specifically for this and a couple ladies! are the first to come to my mine purely because neither wants to actually get married yet but i liveto torture!
Ohhh , and would totally be fair gain though they might need some dragging.
needs a wife like yesterday and so would totally pay her for a "vision."

would drag to an UC matchmaker ball.
Yeah so I think it's safe to say this is going to be A Thing xP
Yes, love her. Bree is right would drag to any and all events. Likewise is suspect that (if Hawke is down) would get Involved in this mess hands down. And if we want to get messy maybe something with and and the mess that is - but depends on Hawke there. I've been thinking of reviving Mary Pince so that could be a fun thing for Mary to drag people too....
WW should run a "most hopeless debutante / most lovelorn bachelor" contest and have people buy a ticket/spend some small change to vote for their favorite. Then we can spend some weeks lampooning our "winning" folks in the magazine and use the money to actually sponsor them a session with the seer.

It's like a sweepstakes but no one wants to win ;D
I would like to throw Tommy into this somehow but he's middle class and hopeless at everything Sad
all of these are great!
