Long Term Project - Semi-Sentient Plants - 5th Year Herbology
Fifth year students approaching their OWLs are tasked with a year-long project to complete either individually or in pairs. Students need to research and plant, in their own plot in Greenhouse Five, one of the plants listed below, then maintain the plant for the entire year. This can be done one of two ways. You can complete a Field Journal in the journal forum that consists of at least 8 entries spread out throughout the year (that’s 1 per month Sept-May, with wiggle room to miss 1) OR 2 IC threads. I will be keeping track of your progress in a spreadsheet!
The Point Breakdown
- Field Journal - 5 pts per completed entry (150 + words) up to a maximum of 40 pts. Please tag
in each entry so I can keep track. Best for solo projects!
- Threads - 20 pts per completed thread (10+ posts 3 being your own), please PM
archived threads and I will keep track. Best for pairs!
Suggested Plants - these have some information on them somewhere on the HP Wiki, barring the last one, but they're just Extra Snappy Snapdragons.

- Vampiric Vegetation
- Potts Snapdragons
