This reminded Ford very much of the conversation where Barnaby had encouraged him to read with drama; the spirit had made some lurid suggestions at that point, too. He could very easily imagine the sort of suggestions he had made to Cash's wife. But on the whole, recommending poems and songs was rather tame — even the strictest spirit division employee in their worst mood could hardly criticize too much when all he was doing was pointing out literature that had already existed for hundreds of years, and which anyone might have stumbled upon of their own volition without his pointing it out.

"Not a problem," he said with a tight smile — polite enough, but obviously relieved to be calling the interaction closed. "Glad I could help."
