  • 17 years - 30 years
  • Does not have to be a love match, so long as they get along and she agrees to have his children

What he's hopeful for:

What he actually needs:
  • Someone that will challenge him, clever, thinks on her feet, likely a career woman

A note: I don't pre-plot love matches, I prefer for that to happen organically. I am willing to toss characters together to see how they get on, but if there isn't any chemistry I won't force it in that direction.     A wealthy gentleman — likely pureblood, if only to remain in the same circles as her closest friends! — who has a lucrative occupation or is set to receive an inheritance. Likely from an "older" family with a good reputation overall. No physical preference; handsomeness is appreciated, but far from the most important thing on her mind!

My Ideal Match For Them
    Similar to the above, but who's likely to challenge her idea of a "happily ever after" post-marriage. I'd love for her to go through the ideal courtship at the beginning, but then realize a life of luxury is one more of confinement than freedom! Perhaps his expectations are made clear during the engagement period, and she realizes she never considered those rules as ones that would affect her!

Also Open To:
    Other MCAB men, obviously. Her ambitions are just that — ambitions — and realistically are likely to never come to fruition. Any match made of this type would certainly be a love match, but the post-marriage challenge would likely be one where she experiences feelings of (1) being inadequate, (2) being incapable of pleasing her husband, (3) not fitting up to some expectation she's given him with her exuberant attempts at husband-hunting.

A Gryffinfail of a lawyer who managed to finally gain access into the auror program after two years of prior failure, only to get kicked out after failing to find a mentor. While not very politically or academically-inclined, he's an overall sweet guy with a bit of a flirting problem.

    None, at the moment. He's fairly sure that the shock of seeing him married would end the lives of half his Connolly relations, especially after the shock!elopement between his brother and Magdalena Backus. His ideal woman, from IC experience, tends to be pretty and blonde — especially ones with bright blue eyes.

My Ideal Match For Them
    A woman totally out of his league. It would be awfully amusing to see him woo an UCAB woman into a courtship/elopement with his aloof charm and debonair smile. It would be the perfect contrast to his brother, who married a baker's daughter to help her secure an inheritance!

While definitely fitting the standard of society's "ideal" woman in term of beauty and personality, Tessie made the impulsive decision — mostly based off insecurities — to resign to the life of a governess after a failed first season. Thus, she's technically expecting to remain unmarried for a long while, but where would the fun in that be? Wink

    With no desire to social climb, Tessie envisions herself with a husband of similar wealth to her own family. She desires a comfortable life with no desire for extravagance, and as such would be comfortable with a MCAB husband with a Ministry, hospital, business, etc. profession. The politician type is less-than-desirable, but a humble government employee would be fine!

    Similar to the above, to be honest — and maybe some initially unrequited drama Wink

    He's 100% willing to put off marriage for as long as socially acceptable, but it more than halfway to forty and has no desire to be labeled a confirmed bachelor. He switches between what he wants from a woman — he may claim he just wants a "trophy" sort of wife to tend to the home and raise their children, while deep down he really wants a companion.

My Ideal Match For Them
    A woman with reservations about courting/marrying him for whatever reason. Maybe she's hesitant about marrying an gentleman with such a high-risk career, or maybe she has her own family problems. Such reservations would likely bring his own insecurities to the surface.

In his attempt to prove himself the superior of the three Pettigrew brothers, Albert has managed to do little more than prove himself an asshole. He originally started out as a lawyer, then moved to the Research Committee for the pay raise and also so Bree could make Finnian.

    UCPB, 24 and under, and completely respectable themselves. He's be willing to take a bride from a family with scandals in their past, but only if it's been a long time since and it had little to do with the woman in question! He hasn't shown a preference for personality types nor appearance, so that's open!

My Ideal Match For Them
    A woman who... doesn't fit his expectations, bar the "pureblood" requirement. Maybe she's from a middle class family known for their social-climbing tendencies, or maybe she's deal with some recent scandal that causes from drama. Or Merlin forbid, maybe he actually falls in love despite knowing the reputation damage that could come from being tied to them legally (or even in the society's eyes!). Also an option is a girl who on paper fits his requirements, but who has clashing views/from a family with clashing political views.

    None! She's very resistant to the idea of marriage because of her corset-burner approach to feminism. She doesn't believe that a man is physically capable of treating a woman as an equal (and ones who don't are likely to have difficulty maintain an relationship with her!). If she ever did marry, it would likely to be another unprejudiced, WCAB man!

He's not particularly looking to be married off, but he jokes about it IC and it would be funny to see that happen!

    Either too much of a wildcard for him or a woman who he falls for but isn't a lover of animals/travel, prompting him to have to make a "decision". (Or, alternatively, someone his sister dislikes immensely).

Ari is incredibly gay but also increasingly feeling the pressure to get hitched so that the rest of the world doesn't figure that out. Sooo.
 
What he's looking for:
❧ Ideally...? A lesbian.
❧ MCAB; he doesn't care about blood but would only pursue a woman of his own class.
❧ He is most likely to go for an older deb - someone potentially considered "past it" or unlikely to have other prospects -  but essentially anyone aged 17-35.
❧ EITHER: someone he could see himself being good friends with, OR: someone who very obviously is not a good match for him so that there is a convenient excuse to be "talked out of it" or break it off later.

What I'm looking for:
❧ Because I am after a beard here, I don't have any particular endgame in mind. Things may or may not end up in marriage since I would much rather see how things play out organically; what I can promise for sure is plotty hijinks and drama.
❧ And also all the awkwardness in the world. What is more fun than awkwardness.

An aging debutante with a love of children (but who secretly has fertility issues of her own!). Can be a little weird in some aspects, but not enough to be considered an eccentric.

    28+ UCPB, and with a good enough reputation that a potential courtship would cause her family any negative attention (though she has cousins that are less than perfectly respectable, so something like that wouldn't be too troubling).

My Ideal Match For Them
    Most of my ideas for her take place after the marriage, so my expectations before that are really... nothing in particular! I'd like to stick to her expectations because she's not one to budge. Romance-wise (i.e. someone who's not explicitly a marriage possibility) could also be a halfblood!

Also Open To:
    Widowers and people with children. Violetta loves babies and kids, which is the driving force behind her desire not to end up a lonely spinster, so she would not complain about youngish step-children!

    A pretty UCPB girl that is between the ages of 18 to 21. He is somewhat open on age and class but he is trying to be mindful of the type of woman his family would expect him to marry.

This more pre-hurling than anything since Clarissa will not be debuting this year. A very prim and proper girl, Clarissa would probably make an ideal bride for traditionalists if it wasn’t for the fact she is both not purist and stays openly friends with people like .

What she’s looking for:
    UCAB, 21+ (especially if a heir). She would be looking for men that her family approve of but she has a penchant for being attracted to ‘bad boy’ types so that might be a bit of a factor.  As a Slytherin, she also appreciates a man that has ambition and won’t just treat her as a dumb housewife despite the fact she has no plans to ever work.

What I’m open to:
    Clarissa has shown a tendency to be attracted to brutish men, usually of the working class, that her parents would heavily disapprove of so I am open to drama in relation to this.
