Starting a Discussion

So you found a book that you loved (or hated) and want to talk about it? Check out the discussion master list to see if there’s an existing thread. If not, simply follow the guide below to start a new one!

THE TITLE:

Please title your thread with the book title, by, and the author ie: Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen. Please tag the thread with the M for Mature if the book in question wouldn’t be permitted in a liberal high school library.

THE STARTER
Your first post should contain a spoiler free summary of the novel, such as one might find on the back of a book or its inside jacket. Feel free to steal from goodreads if summarizing in this way is not your forte =P You may also choose to include starter discussion questions. Any spoilers there should be in spoiler tagged.

Ensure you include the following at the bottom of your first post

PHP Code:
<hr><center><i>This is a discussion thread for people who have [b]read[/b] or are [b]reading[/bthe book in questionWith that in mindthere are likely to be spoilers throughout. [b]However[/b], in the event of major twists or “how it ends”please wrap content in spoiler tags.</i></center>

YOUR THOUGHTS
Don’t just dump and run—make sure the first reply to the thread is your own! Consider your thoughts on the book as a whole, your responses to the questions you’ve generated, or just a reaction to a particular event!

SHARING IS CARING
Before you call it a day, please head over to the discussion master list to add your thread!

I WANT TO DISCUSS A SERIES!
To discuss a full series, please follow all the steps above with the addition of linking to any individual threads for books in that series. Your title should also include the word "series" in it ie The "Harry Potter" Series by JK Rowling.
