Jacques Gabriel Michaud

Jacques is a part vampire Frenchman that moved from France to Wales in 1882 after almost ending up in a scandal involving another man. It got covered up by the other man but it was enough for Jacques family to decide he needed a new change of scenery. His elder brother had previously moved and so that was who Jacques was sent to stay with.

He moped around for a fair bit before getting a job at the British Ministry of Magic as a Translator in the Department of International Magical Co-Operation. He gets his own place in Bartonburg and begins to settle in more despite things like plagues and fires. Is Hogsmeade cursed? Jacques thinks it kind of is.

In 1885, Jacques meets Ozias Lowe and begins an intensely romantic and passionate affair. He is also trapped in the Ministry explosion and breaks his dominant hand. Due to the gap between the hands damage and being rescued, it never heals quite right. His brother, who had only been at the Ministry to see him also perished in the explosion. This all combined causes him to fall into a depression as he cannot do his paintings or artistic pieces the way he has long been used to. He eventually comes out of it and manages to train himself into using his left hand instead. He also gets a music shop via his brother that he is meant to manage until Tristan claims it fully. Joy. He doesn't go back to that job though and quits.

In 1887, his sister in law passes away and his Hogwarts aged nephew comes under his care. Near the end of this year, his affair comes to an end. There had been rumours starting to surface about the close nature of Ozias and Jacques 'friendship' and Ozias had his family to think of.

In 1888, wanting to preoccupy himself, he answers an ad for an illustrator. He ends up illustrating The Untold Story of the Sycorax Expedition which kicks off a side hustle of illustrating works for him.

Jack Humphrey-Mavis

Jack was born the second son of the Earl and Countess of Esterwick. His actual name is John, with Jack being a nickname and the name he most often provides when asked for it. Upon formal introductions, however, he is introduced as The Honorable John Humphrey-Mavis due to his familys position within nobility.

Friendly and charming, Jack has a reasonably easy life. He played as Keeper for his school team before graduating and becoming a second string for the Appleby Arrows. He was eventually given a lucrative offer by the Chudley Cannons. A loyal sort, he sought out advice from his friends. Most urged him to take on the offer, especially since the current first string Keeper was unlikely to retire any time soon. And so he became a Chudley Cannon first string Keeper.

When it comes to other aspects of his life, Jack has been enjoying cultivating friendships with other people in his social circle. He has also been enjoying cultivating flirtationships.
