Did You Know?
Queen Victoria was known for putting jackets and dresses on her pups, causing clothing for dogs to become so popular that fashion houses for just dog clothes started popping up all over Paris. — Fox
It would be easy to assume that Evangeline came to the Lady Morgana only to pick fights. That wasn't true at all. They also had very good biscuits.

Feature Me In Witch Weekly!
#1
Feature me!
Generally speaking, Wenches will peruse threads and use them for scandal fodder if they meet certain criteria. If your character is noteworthy, the thread takes place at least partially in a public area, and there could be reason for speculation, you might find yourself featured! The nature of the gossip may or may not have any basis in truth. Rumors started by Witch Weekly do not affect your character's reputation, but may affect how they interact with other characters depending on who reads the magazine!

If you would specifically like your character(s) to not be mentioned by name, you may add them to our blacklist. Even if your character is on the list, we reserve the right to publish articles about them with the stipulation that they will not be mentioned by name, but referred to with a descriptive moniker. You may also add your characters to the blacklist with only topical restrictions, should you desire.

If you would like to request coverage of your character or event, contact Breeat least two weeks in advance. Subject to article availability. You can also subtly improve your chances of being mentioned by using this thread to tell us what your characters are up to!

Advertisements!
In order to have your shops, businesses, or services featured in the advertisements section, please add them to this list.

Ask Harmony Aidsworth!
Any character can write in to Harmony Aidsworth, for any sort of problem you have! Harmony will answer questions about your love life, give advice for how to deal with difficult friends and relatives, or even give you some tips on how to get that persistent stain out of your favorite skirt.

To have your character's letter featured in an article of Witch Weekly, PM Edric Umbridge with your letter only; Harmony's reply will be written by our staff! Your letter will be published with a moniker; you can include the one you want to use or leave it off and we'll assign one. You can feel free to put these letters in the Letters & Journals forum, but in order to be included they must be PM'd to Bree. Please allow at least a week between the date you sent it in and the date you'd like it to appear--e.g., if you sent in a letter on Friday, it might not appear until the following Sunday's issue.

Letters From Our Readers!
As above, but without the advice element. Depending on the content of your letter, it may be published as-is, or there may be a magazine staff written response published as well.

Lonely Hearts!
Much like sending in letters or advice, have a character submit an anonymous personal ad to Witch Weekly for the Lonely Hearts column or respond to one posted in a previous issue. If unsure, refer to an old Lonely Hearts article for ideas on how and what to write or do a little research into Lonely Hearts columns in the 1800's for inspiration. PM your Lonely Hearts submissions to Ursula Black and get creative! Bonus points if you generate plots from this.

Lonely Heart submissions will run in 1-3 consecutive articles, or until a response is generated.

Missed Connections!
These are very similar to 'Lonely Hearts' in theme, but differ in format. These are self-contained stories describing an interaction your character (or an NPC) had either at a ball, in the street, in a shop, or really anywhere at all. If you didn't catch their name, later forgot it, or lost their card, write in a brief story describing how you met and ask them to send a response. These are formatted a bit like the Missed Connections on Craigslist if you need a reference!

PM your Missed Connections submissions to Edric Umbridge and allow at least one week before they appear in the magazine! Letters will be published with an epithet for both the writer and the 'connection,' (ie., 'Shy Suitor seeks Buxom Blonde') and you can either provide the names yourself or let us come up with them.

Heard Around Town
Occasionally, we'll publish a selection of gossip 'heard around town;' this is essentially like the Rumor Mill, but more outlandish and generally rather baseless. You can send potential 'overheard rumors' to Edric Umbridge. These rumors can include characters that are not your own, but publishing is at Wench discretion and they may be edited/made more anonymous before being published. Rumors in Witch Weekly do not affect reputation. We typically only run one of these types of articles per month at most, so if we do decide to publish your rumor with others it may be several weeks later.
