    His Majesty Merlin Huxley
    In Character
    [Image: 2wfqng1.jpg]
Full Name: His Majesty Merlin Huxley

Nicknames: Primarily called Merl or Merlin, although sometimes referred to as Maj by family. Signs things 'HMM.'

    Birthdate: August 30th 1866

    Current Age: Sixteen

    Occupation: Grumpy Asshole Student

    Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff

Wand: Hazel, 10", unyielding, dragon heartstring

    Blood Status: Pureblood

    Social Class: Upper

Family: Gladstone Huxley, Father: Merl strongly resents his father because Gladstone came up with Merl's clusterfuck of a name. He thinks his father is ridiculous, but has never made a real effort to bond with his father.

Constance Huxley nee Macnair, Mother: Merl doesn't resent his mother because she is not responsible for His Majesty Merlin. Beyond that TBD.

    Cushman Huxley, Brother: TBD.

    Queen Woolf nee Huxley: TBD

Princess Peacock Woolf: "Poor woman has a worst name than I do."

    Lord Huxley: TBD

Appearance: 5'7", right-handed, strong jawline, green eyes. Merl has a very 'punchable' face in his rper's opinion and often looks a bit sullen.

History: 1866: Merl is born and given the worst name ever unfortunate name that he will later use as an excuse to be sullen.

1869: Merl's brother, Cushman, goes off to Hogwarts. Merlin is too young to be properly jealous.

1870: Merl demonstrates magic by shattering a window in his father's office after a playmate spends the afternoon complaining that His Majesty Merlin is so hard to make nicknames from.

1872: Queen goes to school and Merlin is old enough to be properly jealous. He pitches a fit until his governess 'talks him into' waiting until he's older.

1875: Lord Huxley joins his siblings in Hogwarts and Merlin is displeased.

    1876: Cushman finishes school.

1877: HMM FINALLY goes off to Hogwarts. He is sorted into Hufflepuff when he is there; while sullen and prone to being grumpy when he doesn't get his way, Merl values the principal of justice very highly, and - when he's not being stubborn or pissy - very much enjoys helping people.

1878: Merl's first year at school has made him hate his name even more.

1879: At the end of his second year, Merl selects Ancient Runes and Arithmancy as his electives.

1880: Shortly after Merl's third year ends, Queenie is married. He doesn't have much of an opinion on it.

1881: For his birthday, some relative or other semi-sarcastically gives Merl a book of morose poetry. Merl semi-sarcastically enjoys it and starts writing terrible poetry - half because he likes it, half to be obnoxious.

1882: His sister births a girl with a worse name than his own. Merl sits his OWLs and decides to take Ancient Runes, Transfiguration, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Herbology as his NEWT classes.

    1883: Merl's sixth year ends.

1884: Merl runs for Minister of Magic and fails, predictably. Elmer Macmillan runs his campaign. Upon graduation, he goes to work for the Museum of Magical Miscellany. Both of his brothers die in the plague.

1885: Merl and Elmer purchase Tomes & Scrolls, a hipster bookstore.

1886: In the fall, Merl and Elmer go to South America to try and find a lost Shakespeare book. They fail, but end up working with a magical historian until March of 1887, when they return from their "adventure".

1887: After returning, Merl resumes work at the museum.
