Did you know?

First names were most often used by childhood or school friends. If the friendship was made after school age, first names would only really be used by women. Men were far more likely to refer to their friends by their surnames, a mark of familiarity. — Documentation

WANTED:

Emilia Wright for Jude Wright. Casually alienating offspring since 18882.
Separating was also not a great idea, though they weren't doing great at staying together anyway. If she were to volunteer to be the human sacrifice.. well... Hogsmeade had plenty of debutantes anyway...

Wearing Nothing

Ursula wasn't confident she knew what Ella was referring to, or rather she was afraid that she did. It was hard to know for sure with her guilty conscience. At a loss for how to go on without saying or doing something she would regret, Ursula sighed deeply, leaned back, and took the liberty of nestling her head against one of her sister-in-law's pillows. She turned over onto her side and tucked her legs up a little.

What could Elladora really know and how?

Her interest in continuing their conversation was practically non-existent, but she felt so deflated that she couldn't bring herself to get up and leave.

Taking a calming breath Ella tilted her head back and closed her eyes, imploring what little patience she had left to make itself known. The conversation had not gone entirely to plan, and she had definitely said more than she ought to have done, but how on earth was she supposed to react when Ursula burst into her room in nothing but her smalls?

She sat on the other side of her own bed, back to Ursula’s similarly turned back, her straight spine as tense as the silence.

“I am not made of stone Ursula,”she muttered, reluctant and barely above a whisper.

"Oh?" Her monosyllabic response came out more hostile than she had intended.

Feeling disinclined to be at odds with her sister-in-law and even less to be on the receiving end of her sharp tongue, Ursula rolled onto her back again so she might seem less standoffish. "Do you mean to tell me my sister-in-law has a heart?" Again she sounded more unpleasant than she intended but assumed the older woman would turn to look at her at some point and see she wasn't scowling or sneering at her in the slightest.

Well aware though she was that her heart had never exactly been her strongest feature Elladora still bristled at the slight against its very existence. If nothing else Ursula was hardly in a position to be judgemental about something that might be lacking in others! It was on the tip of her tongue to reply sharply – the situation definitely called for it – but a twist of her head told her that Ursula was more subdued than spiky and Elladora rolled her eyes, unable to find the strength to retort.

“I think you’re enough of an open book for the both of us dear,” she settled against her pillow, stretched out the length of her bed where she could keep a better eye on Ursula.
