Queen Victoria was known for putting jackets and dresses on her pups, causing clothing for dogs to become so popular that fashion houses for just dog clothes started popping up all over Paris. — Fox
It would be easy to assume that Evangeline came to the Lady Morgana only to pick fights. That wasn't true at all. They also had very good biscuits.

IC Hufflepuff Quidditch Tryouts ’89
#1
September 13, 1889 - After Dinner - Hogwarts Quidditch Pitch
Last year had been nerve wracking, but those year Lucky felt he had things more handled. Was more experienced as a quidditch leader. "Good evening. Welcome to quidditch tryouts." He offered a big, warm smile for the sake of hopefully easing everyone else's nerves.

"I am Goodluck Warbeck. Today we will be doing three tasks to determine  who shall be on the quidditch team for the remainder of their school career. There are positions available for chaser, beater, and keeper. You may participate in as many of them as you prefer." A good start, he kept his voice steady and confident. This was a new year for new beginnings. Last year they won it all. This year he needed to find fit players to secure their victory once again.

The tasks were challenging, hopefully. But not too difficult to be unfair, he hoped. All he wanted to find were fit players for the game. Winning was nice, but safety was also good. "Chaser hopefuls, you will each catch a quaffle that will be launched when you have all taken off, and then you must try to get the quaffle past the keeper hopefuls and through the hoops. As for the beater hopefuls, you will be defending the chasers to the best of their ability from the bludgers. As you may have noticed, there are more flying dummies around the pitch. Aim at them, but try to aim for less sensitive areas of the dummies please. Those wishing to try out for both positions may switch halfway through."

He paused a moment, let that information sink in. That was a lot at once. He gazed at each potential player to make sure they got it. They seemed to anyway. "Some of you have likely tried out last year, and might remember these same tasks. Fair warning to still keep your mind sharp and your eyes peeled, because bludgers don't care what happened last year!" He cautioned with a hint of humor at the end.

Another pause, gazing at each potential new player. Making sure they understood, or at least seemed to. They could do it, he was sure. "Alright. Begin!" He shouted and blew his whistle before watching them take off. It was great to be captain.

Paxton was bouncing on his feet in excitement as he listened to the Hufflepuff captain speak. Even if he didn't make the team, it was going to be great fun to go through the tasks, he was sure! Vibrant and bouyant as ever, Paxton decided that he would do the chaser tryouts first. Taking off and going through the task, he landed so that he could switch into the beater task.

The beater position was more of a stretch given his stature but Paxton was still up for giving it a good try. Kicking off, he definitely found this task more difficult than the chaser task had been. Even so, he powered through and touched down. One more task to go through - the tryout for Keeper.

This was the last position that he was trying out for - the Keeper position. It seemed like it would very high pressure but he had made the choice to try out for every available position. Once he had rested a bit, he kicked off again and did the keeper task before setting back down on the ground.

King knew he should have thought better of it before deciding to try out for the Hufflepuff Quiddich team. Truth be told, he never fely truly prepared for the challenges that came his way, not even the ones he put himself in. Being chosen as a prefect was a surprise big enough to begin with, and he wondered if splitting his focus further with quidditch games was this good an idea. Not only because of time, but also due to his own lack of.... well... confidence, for one. After all, who in their right minds would consider him a good player?

This didn't stop him from training as much as he could before September, even before he made up his mind of signing for the chaser position. At nights, the Hufflepuff dreamed of points he could score for his - future - quidditch mates, hopeful that in the near future he would be able to surprise himself and do well by the people he'd come to admire. Goodluck Warbeck would be his captain if he made it into the team and he couldn't deny it was a rather ironic thing - that his name had luck written in it, not to mention 'war'. King couldn't see himself going to war, and he hard an even harder time with luck.

Even then, his siblings were the first to support him when he spoke of trying, and he wasn't one to give up at last minute. Not even when his fingers shook with anxiety and his stomach showed signs of wanting to put away the food he'd eaten, not through the usual means. He decided, for better and for worse, he was a man of his words - even when the last thing he wanted was to keep it. But he did truly want to play quidditch, just as he could see himself winning the challenge. It was all a matter of keeping his head cool and not panicking.

And not making a fool of himself in front of his brother, as well.

"Good luck." He muttered to the little one and tried to show him a peaceful smile before hopping onto his own broom, staring at the hoops he would have to fly on the direction. Not many people were trying for the chaser's position, and those who were he'd never seen playing, so at least it was one less thing to worry about. In terms of, if he'd seen them play and realized they were great, well - that wouldn't do so well for his mind. But none of these worries now. He had to focus.

Quidditch tryouts went by smoothly enough. No one went missing, and only few were injured, just like a normal game of quidditch. Hopefully each student fully understood the risks they were taking by attempting to join the team. "Alright everyone. That is it on tryouts. You will find a list of those who are and are not on the team on the 15th, outside of the Great Hall. Enjoy your evening, and make sure you get some studying in before going to bed."
