Did you know?
The Language of the Flowers was a popular method to express feelings where words might be improper, but did you know other means of doing so? Some ladies used their parasols, as well as their fans, gloves, and hankies to flirt with a gentleman (or alternatively, tell them to shove it!). — Bree ( Submit your own)

This boy, then. He wasn't new. Wasn't one of the worst people in the common room, those rotten rich boys - like Mr. Jailkeeper - who could not fathom a world beyond their own farts. Was a good working class lad, so he'd heard. Had a bit of a weird looking face, and a bit of a weird thing for preaching. Still.Aubrey Davis in The Under-Sofa

Early Bird and Something About Worms
January 20th – McPadraic Estate, Kitchen

It was early, early morning. A time he’d never especially treasured – as a kid, it meant time to work. As a scholarly student, it was as though he’d been given a privilege to rise later than the day actually starts. And then, as an adult, that privilege had been revoked once more. A working class man’s day, after all, was the longest day of all.

He had a notebook in hand, checking through each cupboard and resting a thumb next to the items he was looking for as he went.

There was a pot of tea on. There was usually a pot of tea on for staff that Alexandra helped herself to. This time, she might notice there were already petals in a glass by the pot.
Alex was a early raiser. She hadn't always had been but as the house started to fill with children it was the only time she could find to be with her mother. Then at school it was great for doing study in. Now it was just habit and to avoid her stepmother.

As usually she dressed and sneaked into the kitchen for a cup of tea. Alex was indeed surprised to find the glass and couldn't help but blush lightly as she poured the water into it.

"Sleep well?" She asked softly, knowing he was probably there. Would he teacher her the hiding spell if she asked? It would make her life so much easier...
