    Theodoric Jameshill vs. Enoch Rosier
    #1
Why anyone thought Ephraim had the time in his terribly important and strictly confidential work schedule to moderate something as inane as a duel, he didn't know.

Why any Aurors, who were supposed to be protecting Hogsmeade from crime and dark wizards and whatnot, had the time to spend duelling to no purpose, he also didn't know.

Why one of his nephews was among them, he, yet again, didn't know.

Anyway. "Mr. Jameshill to cast first," Ephraim said, waving him on begrudgingly.

Theo composed himself and readied his wand. He was feeling optimistic today. Today was a winning kind of day. Hopefully he wouldn't have to revise that feeling later on.  With a flourish, he cast. He had learned a new sort of stinging hex while on an assignment recently and it had proven both useful and a fast favorite and so it was that that he chose to use on his opponent in the opening round.

Having worked assignments with Jameshill in the past Enoch was not especially concerned about the challenge he might pose as an opponent. He might have passed the test to become an auror but he was young and inexperienced. Reckless with his spells perhaps.

With measured precision Enoch attempted to confound his opponent.

Rosier's spell must have hit before young Jameshill could finish his hex, because a look of befuddlement dawned plainly on his face, and he became rather intrigued by the end of his own wand, like he'd forgotten why he was holding it.

"The round to Mr. Rosier," Ephraim said, letting his opponent shake off the confoundment before he added, "Mr. Rosier, you may continue."

Feeling even more confident than before Enoch sent a knock-back jinx to throw his opponent off his feet and hopefully end this sooner rather than later.

Unwilling to surrender his fighting spirit, Theo tried to ward off his opponent's attack with a shield charm.

A predictable result. The more seasoned Auror had succeeded once again. Ephraim offered commiserations to his nephew and congratulations to Mr. Rosier upon winning the duel, and thanked his stars it had at least been over quickly.
