Unlike Yasmina, Rush didn't like conventional magic. He used spells just as often as any witch or wizard did, of course, and their entire business was founded on a magical premise - literally - but he didn't really go for all the rest of it. The cursed objects that Mei was so fond of collecting had no appeal for him. He'd ridden a flying carpet once, but it had made him feel vaguely nauseated and he didn't know how to steer. And he really didn't care for the English floo network.

Yasmina had been gone for a while, though, and while everyone else was either pretending not to notice or pretending not to worry, Rush had decided to go out and look around for her. He hadn't wasted his time on Muggle London, because he knew her better than that - if she was going to run off and get lost in one of their towns, she was going to head straight for the part of it that she wasn't supposed to be in. He'd gone straight to Diagon Alley, then, and when he'd heard someone talking about an open dance being held in Hogsmeade, he'd known that was most likely where she'd ended up. Unfortunately, Hogsmeade was apparently in Scotland (who knew?) and necessitated a floo trip and ugh.

He was covered in soot now (and he liked this shirt!) but at least he was here. Hopefully Yasmina was, too. Rush tried his best to dust himself off as he wandered around the edges of the ball, trying not to seem too conspicuous. He didn't know what his 'sister' thought she was doing here, but Rush, at least, certainly wasn't here to make friends.

It didn't take long to spot her, but when he did, she was out on the dance floor - either pulling her partner along or getting pulled along, he couldn't say which; only that it looked not-quite like actual dancing. Not wanting to attract attention, he avoided calling out to her, but tried to start making his way over - only to be frustrated when people kept dancing out into his way. To be fair, he should have expected as much by trying to just walk straight through the dance floor, but he had a bit of a one-track mind as he weaved through the dancing figures - or at least, he had a very singular focus until he accidentally tripped one of the dancers, sending them sprawling out onto the floor.

"Dos," he swore under his breath. "Sorry, I'm sorry - "
