Bella was certain of only a few things at this point in her life: (1) people were judging her, (2) she was an orphan for all intents and purposes, and (3) her anxiety was not improving whatsoever. What didn't make the list was that she would have a secure feature that included a roof over her head, galleons in her pocket, a wardrobe full of dresses, and a husband's arm to cling to. In short, she had no idea whether her life was about to take a good or bad turn.

Despite her new position as a welcome witch and a disowned debutante, she still managed to stay afloat due to the kindness of Clara's grandparents who had been willing to take the displaced Bella under their roof. She still lived like she had with her parents, and on top of that, she had a country home to roam.

Surprisingly, they had been willing to purchase her a winter wardrobe. She could only assume that Clara had done some talking, as she couldn't imagine that her grandparents would've thought of it themselves. Bella could only see herself as a burden, and she imagined they saw her as such, too.

So Bella was now in the House of Lytton, a place she didn't like to be. Clara was getting a fitting while she sat in one of the chairs, her ankles crossed as she tapped her wrist against her skirt-clad knee.

From the other side of the store, a spark flew into the air, catching Bella's attention. She craned her neck upwards, trying to get a look at what was going on, only to see another spark coming towards her. Letting out a squeal, she ducked down and out of the way.
