    PREWETT EXONERATED

    NEW EVIDENCE CONVINCES COURT

In light of new evidence, including the letter published last month from the self-confessed debutante murderer, Miss Maureen Prewett has been retried and found innocent of all counts against her and her sentence of life in Azkban lifted effective tomorrow.

Miss Prewett has been promised reparations for her unjust imprisonment over the last ten months

and the consequences of this including damage to reputation and physical well being. This court ruling comes just in time as Miss Prewett is reportedly in poor health although The Daily Prophet was unable to speak to her after the trial this morning.

Meanwhile, the hunt for the real killer resumes with renewed vigor. It is expected that the killer will be apprehended in the next couple of weeks thanks to new leads.

    CURRENT PROFESSIONAL QUIDDITCH RANKINGS

    OCTOBER STANDINGS RELEASED

With three months left in the season, things have suddenly gotten very competitive on the professional circuit.

    2. Tutshill Tornadoes
    3. Puddlemere United
    4. Pride of Portree
    5. Banchory Bangers
    6. Kenmare Kestrels
    7. Chudley Cannons
    8. Caerphilly Catapults
    9. Wigtown Wanderers
    10. Hogsmeade Howlers
    11. Wimbourne Wasps
    12. Appleby Arrows
    13. Montrose Magpies
    14. Ballycastle Bats
    15. Holyhead Harpies
    _____________________________________________________________
Rankings aside, the most interesting things to avid fans of the sport may be the sudden competitive difficulty that six teams find themselves in this next month. The Banchory Bangers, Chudley Cannons, Kenmare Kestrels, Pride of Portree, Puddlemere United and Tutshill Tornadoes are all tied for number of games won and lost. This means that the only thing distinguishing them is their number of points, and second place is truly anyone's game in the next month. The Falmouth Falcons also have a truly tenuous grip on first - in the top eight rankings, anything could happen this month.
