Did you know?

The Language of the Flowers was a popular method to express feelings where words might be improper, but did you know other means of doing so? Some ladies used their parasols, as well as their fans, gloves, and hankies to flirt with a gentleman (or alternatively, tell them to shove it!). — Bree

This boy, then. He wasn't new. Wasn't one of the worst people in the common room, those rotten rich boys - like Mr. Jailkeeper - who could not fathom a world beyond their own farts. Was a good working class lad, so he'd heard. Had a bit of a weird looking face, and a bit of a weird thing for preaching. Still.

No One Will Know, Right?
January 7, 1888 - Hogwarts Great Hall

Normally the chatter at breakfast was subdued, a quiet chattering as students sleepily worked their way through breakfast. Sisse typically was wide awake and chatty but she was well aware that Sloane often was not at breakfast. This morning, however, it almost felt like lunch. Everyone was reading the journal entries and whispering about the contents.

Like everyone else, Sisse and a group of Gyrffindors were clustered over a page as they ate their meal. Sisse didn't think it really was that big of a deal, until she found a mention of Sloane. It wouldn't have been that bad of a thing if it hadn't been for the mention of Sisse's own aversion of Exploding Snap. Surely no one would know that meant her, would they? She blanched, looking around to see if anyone else had picked up on the mentions of the first years.

"You don't think all of this is real, do you?" Perhaps someone would chalk it up to a girl being catty. But really what reason did a girl have to be this catty to people she didn't even know?

Open to anyone who would reasonably sit with Sisse and Sloane Bixby at breakfast

"What is real?" Calla asked, looking up from her goblet of pumpkin juice that she had been staring intently at, blissfully oblivious to the ongoing drama. At the start of the year, she'd gotten odd looks whenever she'd joined her friends at the Gryffindor table but at this point pretty much everyone seemed to accept the presence of the stray Hufflepuff, She had far more friends in Gryffindor than in any other house, including her own. Not that anything was wrong with the others, that was just how it worked out.  She'd probably get stared at all over again next year with the first years but it didn't really matter. She sat at her table when it counted.

"I assume what you are talking about why it is so much nosier than normal. Hey actually, what is going on? Did they cancel something? Announce something?"
