    The Minister Has Fallen [TLM]

Open to preferably another lady in her age group, married or unmarried!
Only a few days had passed since the Minister for Magic had resigned, and the gossip surrounding his resignation was inescapable. Many wondered whether he'd resigned because he was humiliated or because others had demanded it — either way, Violetta was happy the man was out of his job!

Violetta's father had spoken of who he thought might be running. Mr. Barnabas Malfoy would definitely be a suitable pick for minister, but she doubted her own cousin, Mr. Stephen Flint, would be a bad pick either. Apparently her cousin had spoken of his political ambitions before, but she wasn't sure if he'd been speaking about in the recent future or later in life.

Violetta was knitting as she sat in one of the chairs of The Lady Morgana's parlor, her eyes glancing around at the few woman who had also entered the room to chat. She saw one who seemed to be minding herself, so Violetta took the opportunity to speak to her.

"Minister Urquart's resignation was quite a mess, don't you think?" she asked, eyeing the copy of The Daily Prophet that sat on the little table in front of them. "After all that uproar about werewolves and half-breeds ..." she commented with a tired shake of her head.

The uproar surrounding the Minister's private life over the last few months had struck Minnie as being a terrible shame for all parties involved and really she didn't know who to feel sorriest for. His family, the family so to speak, behaved as though nothing touched them and she found it truly devastating to think of an existence in which she was estranged from her natal family. His real family all seemed like utter darlings and Minnie had shed a tear when she had read about poor Miss Urquart - how hard her life would be now! And Adelia was her friend and Minnie doubted any of it had been easy for her either even if people seemed determined to ostracize her!

It would be nice to think that his troubles were over now, the Minister always seemed like such a good man and her uncle John said wonderful things about him. His tenure had passed in the blinking of an eye but her world never changed really and just as she had been when she first heard of his elevation Minnie once again found herself in the Lady Morgana with the world seemingly going on around her.

"I think it a dreadful shame for him. He seems like such a dedicated man and to lose it all because of something so awful happening to his daughter must cause him such terrible pain."

Violetta was obviously on the other side of the political spectrum as Miss Pendergast, which didn't surprise her seeing that those Pendergasts tended to be more liberal-minded. Violetta would only speak nicely of the Minister because he gave Mr. Crouch his job, but now Violetta was left wondering if Mr. Crouch would try to take his now former boss' job since it was open.

"It is a shame that his daughter had to be turned into a dog. No one deserves that fate," she responded sincerely, albeit a little offensively. She didn't even think a mudblood deserved that fate; Violetta would much rather be dead than suffer from the curse of lycanthrophy! That would be the one time she wished her body functioned like a muggle's — she'd be killed without having to live with such a debilitating disease! Oh and the shame!

"I wonder who the new Minister will be, and what kind of government we'll have in a year," she pondered aloud, greatly hoping that the new Minister's beliefs would align with the current, conservative-leaning Wizengamot's!
