    Residence: Irvingly
    Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
    Wand:
Chestnut, 11¾ inches, Dragon Heartstring, Hard — The wand he received at Ollivander's and the one most commonly found in his pocket. A nice and trustworthy wand.

Ebony, 12¼ inches, Werewolf Hair, Rigid — A wand Marlowe bought simply because of the wand core, but has since proved unsuitable for his use. Great for offensive magic — especially curses — but is terrible with daily household spells.
    Blood Status: Halfblood
    Social Class: Middle Class
    Family:
    William Forfang, Father [1835]
Elizabeth Forfang (née Marlowe), Mother [1844]
    Elizabeth "Bessie" Forfang, Sister [1865]
    Irving Forfang, Brother [1870]
    Appearance:
  • Slightly taller than average at 5 ft. 8 in. with a broad build.
  • Dark complexion without countless tiny scars from all the wandering around the woods he's done.
  • Very short black hair and dark brown eyes.
  • Dresses generally in muggle clothes, but sometimes wears wizarding robes for formal occasions.
  • Left-handed.
  • History:
1863 — Marlowe is born to William and Elizabeth Forfang. He is given his mother's maiden name as a given name, as she was the only child in her family who survived adulthood and wished to keep the name alive without hyphenating his surname.

1865 — Marlowe's sister Elizabeth is born. Though she shares her mother's name, she is exclusively addressed and introduced as "Bessie" to distinguish them from one another.

1869 — Marlowe's first sign of magic appears at the age of six. During Christmas morning in his family's home, a spout of magic caused by excitement sees that his presents are opened (rather violently) without a single finger touching them.

1870 — The family welcomes another child, a son named Irving. He is a very sickly, frail child and never manages to recover from his childhood ailments. He is kept away from his siblings except for on special occasions for fear that he'll catch a bug from them.

1871 — The mischievous Marlowe manages to leave the home near the dark morning hour without anyone's knowledge and wanders to the edge of the woods. After hearing what sounds like a whine coming from the forest, he steps deeper inside and comes across a horrific sight — an incredibly large, wolf-looking beast with mangled legs and bloodstained fur.

He senses the danger, but cannot bring himself to leave the suffering creature without assistance. He returns home and practically drags his parents to the scene by daylight where they find not a hairy beast, but an injured man. His parents call for a healer's assistance, but tell him not to speak of the incident again. He later discovers through one of his father's library books convinces himself the creature was a werewolf.

He approaches his parents with his newfound information, to which they act as if his whole memory had been nothing more than a child's way of coping with seeing the bloodied man. This dismissive attitude only causes him to think more about the incident, eventually to the point where he becomes obsessed.

1875 — Marlowe receives his acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Upon his arrival at the school, he is sorted into Ravenclaw, though the hat briefly considers Gryffindor as a potential option. He enjoys Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions class, but dislikes Herbology and Transfiguration.

1877 — Marlowe adds Care of Magical Creatures as his sole elective. It quickly becomes his favorite alongside Defence Against the Dark Arts.

1880 — Marlowe takes his OWLs. Upon receiving his scores, he continues with the following classes: CoMC, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, History of Magic, and Potions.

1882 — Marlowe graduates from Hogwarts after taking his NEWTs. He joins the Ministry under the Department for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures in the Being Division after being pressured to pursue a stable career, but quickly grows tired with the drudgery of office work.

1883 — Marlowe quits his job on impulse and attempts finding a job he enjoys. He ends up working at the Crowdy Memorial Library as a librarian where he can spend the majority of his time reading while he assists people periodically. Later in the year, he is fired for being practically useless #OhWell. Marlowe returns to his parents' home as a free-loader while he tries to figure out what he plans to do with his life.

1884 — Marlowe's parents move to Irvingly, and as seeing that he depends on them for money, he doesn't argue about the move. He tutors some of the middle class muggle children in town to make a few extra sickles, while also taking the opportunity to explore the surrounding magical forests.

1885 — After hearing what he believes is a werewolf howl on the night of the full moon, Marlowe decides he needs to do something. He begins discreetly purchasing building supplies to construct a watchtower in the forest. He finishes in early December and almost immediately begins preparing for the next full moon.

1886 — Every month brings with it the disappointment of not having found a single trace of a werewolf. He begins hopeless, as he cannot study werewolves without (1) currently non-existing studies about werewolves, and (2) an actual werewolf.

1887 — It is revealed in the Daily Prophet that the Minister's daughter is a werewolf. He makes sure not to do anything impulsive and instead slowly begins planning how he can weasel his way into their lives.
