    Fall Hunt Fashion
It is the beginning of hunting season, and the good and the great take to the courses of England in pursuit of the perfect Autumn sport. So how does one stand out with so much wonderful hunt fashion to fill ones wardrobe with?

    The Jacket
While the red wool jacket is a classic look for the hunt, and of course practical for keeping out the mornings chill, it is never pleasant to be 'one of the crowd'. So we suggest trying a different colour of wool for your coat, a popular choice being purple, or deep blue. A lady should be aware of her coloring when choosing her coat colour. For the lady of a stouter figure the looser cut of the shooting gown can offering a flattering silouette while mounted to even the most buxom lady.

    The Hat
While the box hat is considered typical of the ladies hunting attire, it is possible to make a statement with something a little more dramatic and add some ostrich feathers, or a chiffon train that will trail dramatically behind you as you ride. The correct combo will look most arresting in the heat of the hunt.

Remember the right attire can make you the belle of any hunting party!

    The shooting Gown

A hat can make a true statment.

Make a statement in a riding habit

    The more dramatic the better

    If in doubt...stand out.

The fourth in the Exceptional Women series! Exceptional Women #4: Rowena and Helena Ravenclaw
    Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem

Rowena Ravenclaw is a fairly well-known witch, most everyone can name a few things about her, but not many know many details about her or her daughter, Helena.
    • It is said that Rowena Ravenclaw was the one who named the Hogwarts school, naming it after dreaming of a warty hog leading her to a cliff by a lake.
    • Not only did Rowena come up with the name she was the one to come up with the moving floor plan.
    • Rowena possessed a diadem that was thought to enhance the wisdom of the wearer.
    • Her daughter was taught by her mother as a Ravenclaw.
    • Some point after graduating from Hogwarts, Helena stole her mother’s diadem and ran away to Albania.
    • When her daughter ran away, Rowena asked Hogwart’s own Bloody Baron – a Slytherin with an unrequited love for Helena – to follow her and find her, wanting to see her one last time.
    • Rowena was said to have died of a broken heart and she was the first of the four founders to pass away.
    • The Baron and Helena eventually bother returned to the castle as ghost, the Barn covered in blood and bearing chains and is known as the “Blood Baron”
    • Helena Ravenclaw now lives as a ghost in the Hogwarts castle and is known as the “Grey Lady” and serves as the Ravenclaw house ghost.
    • The Ravenclaw Diadem remains lost to this day and many students seek after it.
In defense of the Marriage Ban- A feature by Madam Flint
This feature is kindly brought to you by Madam Flint, guest writer for the week.

Liberalism, it seems, has been the order of the day for these past few years- a distressing turn of events which sees all those against it branded relics or bigots. The ban brought about recently between a witch or wizard marrying a non-human is a breath of rational fresh air, though there has of course been protests against it. It seems anything sensible is fair game for protests now!

For the vast majority of people, the ban is no more inconveniencing than the one banning them from wedding their dog or favourite horse. Those who feel they must look outside humanity for a life partner are no doubt very ill indeed, and in need of a good physician or a sound blow to the head, whichever is more convenient to restoring sense to their brains, before they indulge in their perversions with a sheep or a tortoise instead of just a blood-sucking corpse.

Young ladies must be cautioned also- to allow your brother to marry a veela is no different to allowing him to marry a woman you know has been spiking him with amortentia! Both are a sure sign of moral corruption and play on the weakened mind of a man when base physical urges are summoned. Vampires too have no business reproducing with a human- the fact that they themselves are dead and cannot create life between two of their own is a sign that any resulting child with a human will only have a half life- a fate no child deserves.

In fact, I would go so far to say that no half-breeds have business reproducing with humans. Just because something can be done, does not mean it should. Children are growing up in a turbulent enough time as it is without having their loyalties torn between humans and beasts, and no mother of sound breeding and mind would wish that uncertainty on their child. Petulant, childish desire to be different and reject the fine bachelors of society in favour of a corpse or a cousin of a troll shows a tragic softness of the head, and an almost pitiable lack of any sense.
Josephina Flint is a former Minister of Magic, and author of several fine works, including ‘The incompatibility of the Species’, ‘Threatened from within’, and the best-selling ‘The Premises of Purity and other essays’.

Your Star Sign as a Magical Creature!
With your sharp mind and your tendency towards being a bit controlling, you are most similar to a sphinx!
You are independent and unaffected by what others think of you, often not caring whether they notice you at all--which puts you in the same category as the elusive mooncalves!
Your star sign is the equivalent of a banshee--be sure you take care how other perceive you, to avoid coming across that way!
Independent and courageous, you are most similar to a thunderbird! These majestic American birds are also the mascot of an Ilvermorney house!
Dedicated and driven, your pure intentions make you most similar to a unicorn! Take care that those around you are not able to manipulate your innocent spirit.
You are energetic and driven: nothing will stand between you and your goal. This gives you something in common with most breeds of dragon!
You are often inconsistent and very changeable--a trait you share with most pixies!
Your quick temper, paired with your plethora of other virtues, see you coupled with a veela--try to ensure your beauty outshines your tendency towards hostility!
Your tendency towards academia and inner reflection mean you have the most in common with the pensive yet powerful horned serpent!
Your ability to adapt to any group of people or any situation gives you all the resilience of a beautiful phoenix!
The intensity associated with this star sign leads us to pair them with vampires, but Scorpios are also passionate and loyal!
Your vibrant but often non-traditional view of life gives you much in common with English mermaids, as can be found in Hogsmeade's Black Lake!
