Over the summer Hudson's appereance has made the transition from child-like to more teen-like. He's not what you'd call handsome, but he has a... working class sort of charm to him. He's tall, lean and has somewhat broad shoulders. His hair is light brown and his eyes are hazel. His chin is a bit dimpled, a trait he shares with Hiram (I'm going by their PBs' pictures with this xD). As for his dominant hand, it is his right.
1871 - 1882
Hudson is born and is followed by a younger sister three years later. He has some older siblings, too, one of them being Hiram who is already at Hogwarts. Nothing particularly noteworthy happens during Hudson's first years of life. He doesn't live in degrading poverty, though his tendency to hang out with the poorer kids will give him a sort of Working Class Hero quality later in life. At some point during his childhood he even asked his father if he could get a job because two of his friends had them. His father, frankly rather amused by that request, let's him be an unofficial 'errand boy'. Hudson mostly helps around the shop of a friendly neighbour.
At some point, when Hudson is still five or six, Hiram loses his ability of speech. Hudson is too young to comprehed what's happened, but judging by his older relatives' reactions it's a big deal. Still, he grows up with his brother being mute, so he's used to it, unlike his other relatives.
1883 - 1884
Hudson goes to Hogwarts and he's a Hatstall, because the Hat isn't sure if he's more fitted to Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. He's got a very knight-like way of viewing life, but he's also genuinely logical and eager to learn. In the end, the Hat suggests that Ravenclaw might help keep him in a more rational path, whereas Gryffindor could feed his idealism in a bad way. Hudson thinks that's fair and he joins the blue house.
In the summer after his first year a plague hits Hogwarts. His mother and grandmother die. Hudson is sad, crushed even. At first he thinks that's very unfair, then, after he's run out of tears, he considers that maybe that's just the natural way of things. People die and there's no way to control their fates.
This year claims his father's life as well. Hudson copes with the loss by clinging even more to his theories. An orphan now, Hudson realizes that he has to work even harder now. He kind of wishes he was out of Hogwarts already, so he would be doing something with himself instead of be a burden on his siblings and family. He decides that, for a start, he could ensure he gets at least a partial scholarship for the year. He doesn't get one, for that would be too cheesy and ideal for me, but his school performance does improve.
1886 - 1887
He adds Arithmancy and Ancient Studies as his electives. He really likes the former because it has a very board game quality to it and he finds it incredibly easy. He's super close to getting one of the scholarships after his third year, too, but some nerdier other classmates beat him to them. Hudson is a hard working student, but he's got a life too, mainly as a member at Hogwart's Exploding Snap, Music Club and Chess clubs.
Hudson has a Working Class Hero sort of charm going, even though he didn't grow up in degrading poverty or anything. My inspiration for him is what we call in Greece a 'τίμιο, λαικό παιδί' which is actually a meme and I don't know how to translate it. xD Also Vintage Green Cinema songs about poverty.
Hudson is street smart, has a chivarlous sort of thing going and a rather black and white approach on morality. He's bluff and unafraid to say what he thinks, without being mean, if that makes sense. He's what you'd call in Greek, "ντόμπρος".
Hudson is also really good at card games and generally board games and anything that might involve using his brain in such a way. He also has a good singing voice which I think creates a nice irony when his brother is mute.
I'm gonna try really
hard for him not to become dramatic like my other people. Really hard guys I want a humble character for a change. xD
