Full Name: Georgiana Morgana Selwyn
Nicknames: Georgie, Gee
Birthdate: August 12th, 1867
Current Age: 19 years old
Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
Wand: Hawthorn, 10", stiff, unicorn hair
Blood Status: Pureblood
Social Class: Upper class
Height & Weight // 5'3", approx. 115 lbs.
Build // Georgiana possesses a figure most would describe as 'willowy'. Her slender extremities and swan-like neck work to accentuate her already lithe silhouette.
Coloring // Pale skin that is quite blush-prone, dusty pink lips, and long, deep auburn hair. Probably her most distinguishing feature are her cold, seafoam green eyes.
Clothing // Georgiana knows she isn't exactly the most voluptuous woman, and therefore compensates by tight-lacing her corset. She also isn't the most daring debutante when it comes to fashion, but she does attempt to keep up with most trends and makes sure to always look impeccably neat and put-together. In private, she uses spectacles for reading and writing.
Georgiana is right-handed.
- Mr. Selwyn - father
- Mrs. Selwyn - mother
- Mr. Rowland Selwyn - older brother (b.1859)
- Mr. Spencer Selwyn - older brother (b.1862)
- Miss Henrietta Selwyn - younger sister (b.1872)
1867 // Georgiana's birth was a joyous occasion to her father after the production of the Selwyn heir and spare.
1869 // Georgiana shows her first signs of magic after red sparks spout from her ears during a temper tantrum.
1872 // Little Henrietta is born. Georgiana grows to become quite protective of her rambunctious younger sister.
1877 // By now, Georgiana has proven herself to be a gifted student, learning to play the piano and violin, and becoming fluent in French, Greek, and Latin.
Her father had never been fond of Muggles, but his distaste for them reaches a violent peak after the exposure and subsequent persecution of the magical community. He gladly moves his family from their London residence to Hogsmeade.
1878 // Georgiana starts her first term at Hogwarts and is sorted into Ravenclaw.
1880-1881 // Georgiana picks up Arithmancy and Study of Ancient Runes during her third year.
1882-1883 // During her fifth year, Georgiana receives OWLs in all of her courses, and receives O's in Potions, Arithmancy, Runes, Astronomy, and Herbology.
1884-1885 // Georgiana graduates with excellent marks, although she won't do much with her academic credentials as she is expected to have her Coming Out shortly after.
1886 // Mrs. Selwyn becomes increasingly concerned for her daughter and does not hesitate in informing Georgiana of these anxieties, not realizing that her and her husband's high standards for their daughter's marriage may lead to her spinsterhood. Dutiful as she is, Georgiana wants more than anything to find an advantageous match, if just to make her mother shut up once and for all.
Sample Roleplay Post:
- Strong-willed // Stubborn
- Honest & direct // Cold & insensitive
- Responsible // Uptight
Quote:Georgiana sat serenely at her favorite writing desk in the expansive library of her family's home. There were papers sprawled haphazardly all over the mahogany surface, but Georgiana had a method to the madness. The arithmancy chart in front of her was a particularly challenging one that she had been attempting to decipher for a few days now. She stayed in stony silence until she gasped and quickly scribbled something on the parchment. She was busying herself with this as her mother barged in. Georgiana didn't bother to look up from her work; she knew what was coming. With an exasperated sigh, Mrs. Selwyn entered the room and stood in front of her daughter. "For Merlin's sake, again, Georgie?" Mrs. Selwyn received only a mumble in reply which served only to further kindle the older woman's annoyance, "Georgie, how will you ever find a husband when you're always cooped up with your silly charts for company?" Mrs. Selwyn picked up a few of the stray pieces of parchment from the desk and made a face. Georgiana took a brief moment to glance at her mother's reaction. She couldn't tell if her mother was disgusted or constipated, or both, and with a smirk continued her work. Tossing the parchment back on the desk as if a flobberworm had suddenly crawled on her hand, Mrs. Selwyn sighed again. Still feeling rather ignored, she sighed again, louder and more dramatically than before. Georgiana inhaled a breath of immense frustration and said, "Yes, Mama?" Her mother faced her daughter (she had been dramatically staring into nothingness), tutted and replied, "And you really must stop wearing those hideous spectacles..." With that, Mrs. Selwyn quit the room and left a frustrated Georgiana to drop her quill on the desk, sit back on the chair, and sigh a breath of relief.
